<p>Responsible for advising dual enrolled students of Nash Community College including Cooperative Innovative High School Students and Career and College Promise Students.</p> <ul> <li>Manage the CCP/CIHS operations at assigned high school(s). </li><li>Serve as the initial point of contact for Nash Community College enrollment services and program information. </li><li>Assist students and families in navigating CCP admissions policies and procedures; answers specific inquiries, maintains contact with prospective students, and ensures completion of application materials of students in the dual enrollment program. </li><li>Assess prospective student admission data such as test scores and placement information, reviews transcripts from high schools, and evaluates other relative documentation for eligibility into CCP pathways. </li><li>Work with students one-on-one to plan and reach career and educational goals, referring them to appropriate academic programs and or short-term training options. </li><li>Provide academic and career guidance regarding skills, interests, and personality traits. </li><li>Provides college and career advising and registers students in courses per CCP pathways and policies. </li><li>Ensure students receive timely interventions, support services, and proactive outreach based on academic performance and engagement. </li><li>Report bi-weekly grade updates to assigned high schools for all enrolled CCP students. </li><li>Updates and submits enrollment records every semester as required in CCP policy. </li><li>Engage students, counselors, faculty, parents, and other stakeholders as appropriate in information sessions related to college success and the CCP program. </li><li>Work collaboratively with high school personnel to recruit and retain students. </li><li>Create and share weekly student progress reports with high school personnel. </li><li>Respond and document daily early alerts. </li><li>Attend professional development to enhance leadership and advising skills. </li><li>Maintain regular on-site attendance during normal hours of college operations consistent with expectations and College policies and procedures. </li><li>Initiate and answer telephone calls and video conference calls. </li><li>Serve on various committees as assigned. </li><li>Participate in and support ongoing assessment, planning and evaluation to improve student learning. </li><li>Participate in parent-teacher conferences when needed. </li><li>Meet with Cooperative Innovative students to discuss academic performance and educational goals. </li><li>Inform college administration of significant CIHS Student incidents or concerns. </li><li>Communicate with disabilities coordinator about students who may qualify for accommodations. </li><li>Inform NCC faculty of CIHS students about Nash Community College procedures and policies. </li><li>Stay abreast of changes to Career and College Promise legislation, rules, and regulations. </li><li>Advise and register curriculum students whose program of study are advised in the Advising Center set times each week. </li><li>Assist with Open House/Orientation. </li><li>Attend annual graduation exercises. </li><li>Participate in coaching specific and campus-wide professional development </li><li>Participate in professional development activities provided by NCC. </li><li>Participate in College events and activities. </li><li>Maintain regular and consistent on-site attendance during normal hours of college operations in fulfillment of duties not inconsistent with the expectations for full-time employees and College policies and procedures. </li><li>Initiate and answer telephone calls and video conference calls. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned which contribute to the efficient and effective operation of NCC. </li><li>Serve on various committees as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employees may request reasonable accommodation(s) if necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.</p> <ul> <li>Maintain stationary position, sitting or standing, for extended periods of time. </li><li>Operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. </li><li>Ability to maintain files in file cabinets. </li><li>Occasionally lift, move, transport, install, or remove items weighing up to 15 pounds. </li><li>The ability to communicate information so that others understand. </li><li>The ability to observe details. </li></ul> <p>Bachelor's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution required; Master's degree preferred. Direct experience working with High School students and career advising; relevant experience working with the North Carolina Community College system or institution of higher education. Skills required include working knowledge of K-12 Partnerships and College and Technical Education pathways as well as early alert systems, rapport building skills, data collection and analysis, academic planning, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong collaborative work ethic, ability to multitask in independent settings, serve as effective communicator and liaison between college and schools.</p>
