Description</p> <p>College Overview</p> <p>Ranken Technical College has been helping students experience success for over 100 years. The College's three-pronged approach to teaching - hands-on technical experience, general education and professionalism - gives our students the competitive edge, proven by our 96 percent job placement rate within six months of graduation.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Teaches assigned theory and lab classes. Plans daily activities for students in theory and lab. Supervises students for both theory and technical project grades. </li><li>Instructs and evaluates students in appropriate electrical technology courses, to include instruction in shop safety. </li><li>Maintains a safe worksite and enforces Ranken's safety standards. </li><li>Assists in the maintenance of lab and classroom equipment. </li><li>Assists management with developing curriculum and syllabi, scheduling, budgeting, hiring, and other duties. </li><li>Participates in college governance, committee work, student advising, etc. </li><li>Participates in available training to keep current in Electrical Technology. </li><li>Assists in maintaining requirements of industry standards. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by authorized individual. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>AS or BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field. </li><li>Three years or more of practical work experience in ONE or more of the following: </li><li>Power distribution, AC and DC motors, controls, and VFDs; </li><li>DC: basic electrical terms, DC circuit concepts and calculations, analog and digital measuring and test equipment, AC: electrical components such as capacitors, inductors, and transformers that are employed in circuit analysis, transformer principles, RL and RC circuits and impedance, resonance and power factor subjects; test equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal amplifiers; </li><li>Allen Bradley SLC and Controllogix platforms, application of HMI WonderWare software, RsView 32, FactoryTalk, and Panelbuilder, Ethernet I/P, Data Highway Plus, Device Net, and Control Net; </li><li>Instrumentation calibration and control loop tuning. </li><li>NEC and applied commercial wiring and power distribution; </li><li>Programming experience with HMI software programs, troubleshooting experience with equipment controlled and monitored by PLCs and HMI devices; </li><li>AutoCAD, lighting design software such as Lithonia Visual, electrical estimating experience, electrical construction project management, experience in low voltage, fire, phone, security, and emergency power. </li><li>Community college or technical school teaching experience preferred but not required. </li><li>Excellent presentation skills including strong written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles. </li><li>Computer literate in MS Office. </li><li>Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines. </li></ul> <p>Full-Time/Part-Time Part-Time Position Electrical Automation Technology Instructor Adjunct, Evenings Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt Hiring Manager(s) Darrell Taylor Req Number EDU-25-00052 Open Date 11/25/2025 Location St. Louis</p>
