<p>Nemours is seeking a CT/Radiology Technologist (Nights), to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, Florida.</p> <p>Work Schedule: Overnight role, Monday through Thursday (4 shifts, 10 hours each).</p> <p>$5,000 Sign on Bonus offered (external applicants only)</p> <p>If you're passionate about providing exceptional pediatric care and thrive in a collaborative environment, we'd love to hear from you!</p> <p>Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children's Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 130-bed pediatric hospital also features the area's only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. In keeping with our goal of bringing Nemours care into the communities we serve, we also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the region.</p> <p>The Radiologic / CT Technologist will perform x-ray procedures including fluoroscopic procedures under the direction of a physician with established methods and procedures, is responsible for patient care, proper operation of all general diagnostic equipment. In addition, the technologist will perform Computerized Tomography imaging studies while providing a quality health care service that includes total patient care in a comfortable, friendly environment. Excellent communication skills are essential to this position due to required continuous interaction with public and professional/ medical personnel. The radiologic / CT technologist should report to the Director of Radiology or Radiology Supervisor.</p> <p>Responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the Nemours Foundation.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Responsible for working knowledge and operation of a 256 slice Computerized Tomography Scanner and Windows workstation.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging and computerized tomography imaging protocols, radiation safety, performing patient examinations as protocolled by designated radiologist and a working knowledge of all radiology equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides accurate room preparation and instructions to patient / family according to the procedure and physically prepares patient for examination which includes explaining the imaging procedure and answers pertinent procedural questions.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for screening of patients to be imaged for contraindications that may be hazardous to their health or to the safety of others. Assists radiologists by evaluating patients and obtaining written screening for administration of contrast media. Starts IV's and injects contrast material for imaging studies. Observes patient for allergic reaction after administration of contrast.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains work habits consistent with hospital and department policies, reports unsafe conditions and incidents to the immediate supervisor and demonstrates safe work habits. Operates hospital computer systems for patient data entry and retrieval/ order entry and completion of study.</p> </li><li> <p>Determine proper radiation exposure factors for CT to minimize patient dose according to protocols set by the radiologist. Ensures proper function of equipment by proper usage and maintenance.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care, as attached to the annual performance appraisal document, with respect to the appropriate specific chronological age, developmental age or social maturity of the patient.</p> </li><li> <p>Infant <strong>_X___</strong> Child <strong><strong>X<strong>_<strong><strong> Adult __</strong></strong>X_</strong></strong></strong></p> </li><li> <p>Must have the ability to work well with others. Aids in the training of new personnel, students and physicians.</p> </li><li> <p>Regular attendance required.</p> </li><li> <p>Good Communication skills are required. In addition to accepting feedback, asking questions and active communication with counterparts and all departments.</p> </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Associate's Degree required from an accredited Radiology program. </li><li>Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year experience required. </li><li>ARRT Registered required upon hire. (CT preferred or must be obtained within 18 months). </li><li>State of Florida Radiology Technologist License required upon hire. </li><li>American Heart Association BLS Certification required upon hire. </li><li>Pediatric experience preferred. </li><li>Strong communication skills. </li><li>Familiarity with EPIC EMR and FUJI PACS systems. </li></ul> <p>#LI-EP1</p>
