As a leading children's health system experiencing steady growth, we're excited to expand our team with exceptional team members who share our vision of transforming children's health and well-being as one team.</p> <p>Functions under the direction of the Ultrasound Team Lead, Assistant Manager of Radiology and Radiology Manager. The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic exams on patients, providing quality images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation. This position requires performing procedures in other areas outside the Radiology department such as O.R., and hospital inpatient units.</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of an Accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. </li></ul> <p>Position Specific Job Education and/or Experience</p> <ul> <li>One year Ultrasound experience preferred. </li><li>One year of pediatric experience preferred. </li><li>Certification in pediatric ultrasound preferred </li></ul> <p>LICENSE and/or CERTIFICATION REQUIRED</p> <ul> <li>Credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within one year for recent graduates. </li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification completed within 30 days of hire, and maintained thereafter </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE OF:</p> <ul> <li>Positive attitude with excellent interpersonal and communications skills. </li><li>Exemplary customer service skills. </li><li>Competency in caring for patients treated at Connecticut Children's regardless of age, disability, gender and ethnicity. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS:</p> <ul> <li>Strong knowledge of Ultrasound technical scanning parameters and equipment operation. </li><li>Critical thinking skills for complex problem solving and requires the ability to review related information to develop and evaluate options and solutions for clinical decision making </li></ul> <p>ABILITY TO:</p> <ul> <li>Learn and relearn different technologies </li><li>Mentor co-workers and students </li><li>Provide excellent patient and family experience </li><li>Practice hospital safety behaviors </li></ul>
