<p>Job Title: Head of Operational Excellence</p> <p>Department: Operations</p> <p>Reports to: EVP Of Operations</p> <p>Classification: Exempt</p> <p>Location: Open</p> <p>Travel: Yes</p> <p>Job Summary: Head of Operational Excellence is responsible for managing and improving the effectiveness and consistency of GWS Tool Group's manufacturing and logistics processes, plant lay out on Cad, incorporating and adapting technology, and identifying and implementing synergies to ensure process standardization and efficiencies across our operations. They will support manufacturing new products as well as existing allocations between facilities and external parties. In addition, this role will create and manage the capital investment strategy and execution. The position reports directly to the EVP of Operations.</p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Responsible for the development and oversight of a Lean Manufacturing System in all production sites, use six sigma for improving plant improvements.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop plant layouts for better thru put OEE increase</p> </li><li> <p>Identify, define, and implement synergies in manufacturing processes, automation, technology, and logistics across multiple sites.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee cross-leveling and capacity balancing and address bottleneck issues throughout manufacturing processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage multi-site projects and product allocations.</p> </li><li> <p>Analyzes and resolves production issues and assists managers in solving problems.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop operational plans and strategies that align with company goals and objectives.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare and present reports on performance to executive management.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure that business is conducted in accordance with the Sandvik Code of Conduct.</p> </li><li> <p>Continually improves safety record by addressing both physical safety issues & employee safety attitudes.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Minimum of 5 years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; cutting tool manufacturing preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Thorough knowledge of all manufacturing methods, technologies, automation, and equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong knowledge of process management and improvement in a manufacturing setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work in an ambiguous environment; to help identify, simplify, and create structure.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to communicate effectively.</p> </li><li> <p>Multi-site project management and reporting.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and adapt to changing situations.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong Lean knowledge and six sigma black belt</p> </li><li> <p>MBA in finance would be a plus</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prolonged periods of standing or sitting with some lifting, bending, and twisting.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to stoop, bend or kneel when required.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to travel up to 50- 75 % (after introduction period)</p> </li></ul> <p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, age, genetic information, or any other factors prohibited by law.</p>
