<p>Salary range: 55,000 to 65,000/year, based on education and directly-related experience</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>We seek a dedicated and passionate Academic Coach for our Middle School Learning Lab. The Academic Coach will work closely with students to develop their academic and executive functioning skills, empowering them to successfully navigate the demands of middle school. This role is ideal for an individual with experience in education or academic support who is eager to make a meaningful impact on students' educational journeys.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>?Scheduling Student Support: This role is responsible for coordinating and scheduling students for Learning Lab sessions based on recommendations from MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) meetings.</p> <p>?Academic Support: Provide targeted assistance in core subjects, including study strategies, concept reinforcement, and skill-building activities.</p> <p>?Executive Function Coaching: This program guides students in developing essential skills such as time management, organization, prioritization, goal-setting, and self-advocacy.</p> <p>?Individualized Attention: Offer one-on-one and small group sessions tailored to each student's unique learning needs and goals.</p> <p>?Progress Monitoring: Track and assess students' progress through regular check-ins, goal-setting, and feedback sessions. Adjust support strategies based on student progress and feedback.</p> <p>?Collaboration with Educators and Families: Partner with teachers, parents, and school support staff to understand each student's needs and ensure consistent support across all environments.</p> <p>?Resource Development: Design and implement resources, tools, and activities that foster independent learning and promote study skills applicable beyond the classroom.</p> <p>?Mentorship and Motivation: Create a positive, supportive environment that encourages student engagement, resilience, and self-confidence in their academic abilities.</p> <p>?PBIS Team: Serves as a vital member of the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) team, actively contributing to the development, implementation, and assessment of school-wide behavior strategies. This role involves collaborating with staff to promote positive behavior expectations, analyzing behavioral data to inform decisions, and supporting the creation of interventions that enhance students' social-emotional skills and academic success.</p> <p>Education: Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, counseling, or a related field. A master's degree or certification in education or social work is preferred.</p> <p>?Experience: Previous experience working with middle school students in an academic or support capacity, such as tutoring, teaching, or coaching.</p> <p>?Skills:</p> <p>?Strong understanding of executive functioning skills and their importance in academic success.</p> <p>?Ability to build rapport with middle school students and foster a positive, supportive learning environment.</p> <p>?Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with educators, students, and parents.</p> <p>?Organizational and time-management skills to effectively manage multiple students and support needs.</p> <p>?Personal Qualities: Patience, empathy, and a growth mindset, committed to helping students develop independence and resilience in their learning.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>?Experience with special education, learning differences, or ADHD is highly desirable.</p> <p>?Familiarity with academic support programs, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS),</p> <p>Job Category: Student Support</p> <p>Job Type: Full Time</p> <p>Job Location: Springfield International Charter School</p>
