<p>Closing Date: July 24rd,2025 at 9:00PM (PST)</p> <p>Position: Heavy Equipment Operator (Union)</p> <p>Department: Public Works - Maintenance Services</p> <p>Salary: Hourly - $30.75 to $39.25</p> <p>Non-Exempt - Overtime Eligible</p> <p>Benefits eligible & 401(a) payment equal to 2% of base salary.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Under general supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled to skilled heavy equipment operating, truck driving, hauling, and tasks related to public works construction, maintenance, and repair.</p> <p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct periodic safety, daily preventative maintenance, and servicing checks to ensure proper equipment functionality. </li><li>Manage traffic control, including setting up and removing signs and cones, implementing lane closures, and directing traffic around work sites. </li><li>Operate a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles for traffic management, public works construction, maintenance, and repair. </li><li>Transport heavy equipment. </li><li>Perform grading, shoulder maintenance, snow plowing and sanding, basin maintenance, channel and flowline maintenance, and fence repair. </li><li>Maintain, repair, and clean public rights-of-way, basins, flowlines, concrete channels, landscaped areas, concrete structures, and asphalt roadways, ensuring adherence to safe practices, procedures, and traffic laws. </li><li>Fabricate, install, and repair fencing. </li><li>Maintain logs and records of supplies and work performed, and order supplies as needed. </li><li>Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees, and the public. </li><li>Carry out additional duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>The duties listed above are not intended to be all-inclusive.
