Non-licensed employees will be granted one (1) year for each full year of work experience and/or educational attainment up to a maximum of ten (10) years. Additionally, all employees have access to an Employee Assistance Program, voluntary life insurance through PERA, 401(k) and 403(b).</p> <p>Reports to: CFO/COO</p> <p>Deadline for application: Until filled</p> <p>Apply online @ www.pvre7.org</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Payroll Accountant & Human Resources Processor is responsible for managing and executing payroll operations and supporting human resources functions for the school district. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and efficient HR data management. The position requires a high level of confidentiality, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.</p> <p>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CHARACTERSITCICS:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. </li><li>Experience in payroll accounting required. Two years of experience in payroll accounting and HR administration, preferably in a public sector, preferred. </li><li>Strong understanding of payroll systems, Human Resource Information System platforms, and accounting principles. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial software, preferably Tyler Technologies/School ERP Pro and Infinite Visions. </li><li>Familiarity with the rules and guidelines of financial audits and IRS reporting. </li><li>Familiarity with employment laws (FMLA, FLSA, ADA, Colorado labor law, etc.) and school district policies. </li><li>Be service oriented, possess a growth mindset, and have willingness to adapt and learn. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, communicate effectively, and problem-solve with other employees. </li><li>Must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions and Characteristics:</p> <p>Responsibilities for Payroll Accounting</p> <ul> <li>Accurately process monthly payroll for all district employees including but not limited to salaried, hourly, and substitute staff. </li><li>Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. </li><li>Responsible for all monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reporting, including but not limited to PERA, tax withholding, unemployment, tax-deferred plan reporting, and W-2 reports. </li><li>Maintains the District's benefit and deduction records. Reconciles insurance reports and premiums with the payroll deduction records. </li><li>Reconcile payroll reports and prepare journal entries for accounting purposes. </li><li>Work with and respond to staff regarding payroll, timekeeping, and compensation inquiries. </li><li>Assist with year-end audit preparation for annual audit. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities for Human Resources</p> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate and up to date employee records in the Human Resources Information System and personnel files. </li><li>Responsible for the benefits administration for the District. </li><li>Coordinates employee benefits and maintains records on employee leaves (sick, professional, discretionary, vacation). </li><li>Prepare and deliver all staff contracts and notice of assignments. </li><li>Process all employee related staffing changes including but not limited to new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary adjustments. </li><li>Aid and coordinate workers compensation claims and complete workers compensation audit. </li><li>Generate and upload Human Resource reports to the Colorado Department of Education. </li><li>Assist with all general functions of the Central Office to provide exceptional service to the Platte Valley School District Staff and Community. </li><li>Perform all other duties as assigned by CFO/COO and/or Superintendent. </li></ul> <p>Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
