We envision a Mizzou where every Tiger thrives and becomes a responsible, engaged citizen and leader who makes a difference at Mizzou and beyond.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Student Office Assistant serves as the first point of contact for individuals entering the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (VCSA) administrative office suite. This role provides frontline support to staff working within the office suite and delivers exceptional customer service and assistance to all visitors, guests, and staff, while also performing general office and administrative tasks.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Willingness to sign and uphold a confidentiality agreement, ensuring the office's high standards regarding sensitive and confidential information. </li><li>Perform general office tasks, including filing, copying, faxing, data entry, creating correspondence, running errands, maintaining spreadsheets, and other duties as assigned. </li><li>Complete projects assigned by occupants of the VCSA Administrative Suite that support and align with the Student Affairs T.I.G.E.R.S. Learning Framework. </li><li>Greet and assist visitors in a professional and courteous manner. Escort or direct visitors to the appropriate office or destination as required. Exercise sound judgment when interacting with visitors and escalate matters to the Senior Executive Assistant or Executive Assistant when appropriate. </li><li>Ensure meeting rooms are maintained in a professional appearance and prepared for current and future meetings. </li><li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lobby, kitchenette, and front desk areas. </li></ul> <p>Additional Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Attend staff meetings and training sessions as assigned. </li><li>As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities is expected to serve and maintain our departmental and Student Affairs mission. </li></ul> <p>Anticipated Hiring Range</p> <p>$15.25 per hour, paid on a bi-weekly basis.</p> <p>Shift</p> <p>Average number of hours per week: 10-12.</p> <p>Shifts will vary based on departmental needs and occur during normal business hours throughout the work week.</p> <p>This position may require evening and weekend hours supporting activities and programs within the department. Occasionally division and campus projects may require additional hours outside of your normal schedule.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>To be eligible for a student title, an individual must be enrolled at the University of Missouri. Enrollment in the summer session is not required if the student was enrolled in the Spring semester and is pre-enrolled for the Fall semester. Selection is contingent upon results of a review with the Office of Institutional Equity, Office of Student Accountability & Support, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, previous MU appointment history, and reference checks.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Previous office or administrative experience. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. </li><li>Strong organizational skills with precise attention to detail. </li><li>Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and consistent punctuality and attendance. </li><li>Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative. </li><li>Strong sense of ownership and accountability for projects and customer service. </li><li>Knowledge of the campus and its buildings. </li></ul> <p>Application Materials</p> <p>Complete application, and upload the following: résumé, class schedule, cover letter, and 3 or more references which must include at least 1 MU supervisor (if applicable). The individual demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior, acts responsibly with the interests of the larger community in mind and is able to learn from their mistakes. </li><li>Career Management: Identify and articulate one's skills, strengths, knowledge and experiences relevant to the position desired and career goals, and identify areas necessary for professional growth.
