<p>What We're Looking For:</p> <p>Barge Design Solutions is looking for a results-driven Accounts Receivable Manager to lead and evolve our AR function during an exciting period of growth. This is a strategic role for a leader who thrives in building efficient, scalable processes in a fast-paced consulting environment and has experience aligning AR practices with project-driven business operations.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Own the end-to-end accounts receivable lifecycle: invoicing, collections, payment applications, and dispute resolution. </li></ul> <p>Stand up and continuously improve AR workflows, tools, and controls to support scalability across a multi-office, project-based organization.</p> <ul> <li>Partner with project managers and operational leaders to ensure billing accuracy, reduce billing cycle times, and improve cash flow. </li><li>Lead initiatives to achieve and maintain targeted Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) metrics. </li><li>Analyze aging reports, drive collection strategies, and engage directly with clients to resolve outstanding issues. </li><li>Build and maintain strong client relationships while representing Barge's commitment to service and professionalism. </li><li>Deliver actionable insights to finance and leadership teams through AR performance dashboards and reporting. </li><li>Reconcile accounts and ensure compliance with internal financial controls and client contract requirements. </li><li>Provide leadership and development opportunities for AR team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. </li><li>10+ years of progressive AR experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role. </li><li>Proven track record of establishing or rebuilding AR functions in a growing organization-preferably within the AEC, consulting, or professional services industry. </li><li>Experience with project-based billing models and complex contract terms (e.g., fixed fee, time and materials, milestone billing). </li><li>Familiarity with ERP systems like BST, Deltek, or similar platforms (preferred). </li><li>Strong understanding of GAAP, billing compliance, and collections best practices. </li><li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills-able to navigate cross-functional teams and client-facing conversations. </li><li>A proactive, analytical mindset with a focus on accuracy, accountability, and outcomes. </li></ul> <p>Why join us?</p> <p>Barge Design Solutions, Inc., is an engineering and architecture firm with diverse in-house multidisciplinary practice areas.
