<p>Career Services Advisor, Senior</p> <p>USC Marshall School of Business</p> <p>Graduate Career Services Office</p> <p>The Marshall Career Services team, comprised of more than 30 professional staff, and more than 30 undergraduate and graduate student staff, lead the charge to ensure all of Marshall's approximately 8,200 undergraduate, specialty MS, and MBA students have the support and connections to achieve their professional goals. We are thrilled to be recruiting for several roles and are excited to recruit future team members that share our enthusiasm for defining the future of career services and continuing to build Marshall's reputation as the best business school!</p> <p>The specialized master's team in Marshall Career Services is looking to recruit an experienced career services professional to join their team as an associate director. The successful candidate will work directly with graduate students, co-designing career workshops, leading group advising sessions and offer one-on-one advising for students. This role also serves as the primary liaison for specific master's program(s). This position reports to the senior associate director overseeing the specialized masters team.</p> <p>Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Communicates and develops strong working relationships with students from specialized master's programs, ranging in age/experience from early 20's to mid-career professionals </li><li>Help students build self-awareness, carry out self-analysis, explore career directions, develop job/internship search strategies, and design action plans; determine career advising needs of individuals as well as groups of students </li><li>Stay abreast of industry trends and understand functional knowledge, analyze hiring trends and future employment opportunities </li><li>Guide students toward appropriate employment opportunities and help them prepare for the challenges and competition students face within a top-tier business school recruitment environment </li><li>Co-design career workshops and lead group advising sessions covering a wide range of career education topics, such as career exploration, personal branding, relationship building and networking, resume, LinkedIn, storytelling and interviewing, job search and recruiting preparations, and more </li><li>Work as the liaison for the specific specialized master's program(s), coordinates communications with program office, academic advisor, supports student clubs, and collaborates with business communications professor(s) </li><li>Lead, supervise and serve as a resource to student peer coaches, leveraging extensive functional knowledge, and training the peer coaches with coaching mentality </li><li>Support networking and hiring events attended by students, alumni and employers; support recruiting process led by employer relations </li><li>Gather data on level of student engagement with career services programs and events, evaluate student event engagement levels to determine effectiveness </li><li>Gather data on student employment outcome, work as the point of contact with operations team leader and data specialist on compiling program specific outcome report </li><li>Work collaboratively with Marshall Career Services staff, faculty, student services and admissions staff </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>MBA or master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Career Counseling, or related discipline </li><li>Five or more years of relevant full-time experience </li><li>Demonstrated empathy and a good listener for students </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Good presentation skills </li><li>Strategic mindset in guiding students through personal development and growth </li><li>Experience and understanding in coaching and advising </li><li>Strong interest and ability to drive innovation </li><li>Willingness to stay current on industry news, hiring trends and global business trends </li></ul> <p>Anticipated Hiring Range:</p> <p>The salary range for this position is $76,442.59 - 100,145.99.
