Please be prepared to provide five professional references if selected for hire.</p> <ul> <li>Please be prepared to provide five professional references if selected for hire. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assists with maintaining a safe and hazard free environment by conducting patient room searches, reporting unsafe conditions, and applying appropriate emotional and physical support. </li><li>Observes and documents the patient's behavior. </li><li>Assists in basic nursing care by taking vital signs, observing food and liquid intake and output, and collecting specimens for lab tests. </li><li>Assists patients with daily activities. </li><li>Assists with the admission of new patients and orients them and their families to the facility. </li><li>Escorts patients to off-unit appointments and activities. </li><li>Reports information using nursing chain of command. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge / Skills / Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills. </li><li>Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. </li><li>Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. </li><li>Knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development. </li><li>Ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li></ul> <p>Licenses Required</p> <ul> <li>Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire. </li><li>Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications (Preferred)</p> <p>Working Conditions and Physical Demands</p> <p>Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.</p> <ul> <li>This position involves intermediate work that may exert up to 50 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects while providing patient care to those with psychiatric conditions. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Non Indicated</p>
