This role is responsible for training and preparing students to pursue careers in the field of education while encouraging successful achievement of dual credit, certifications, and the professional skills necessary for future educators. The teacher will inspire students to explore teaching as a career pathway and foster the next generation of educators.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Applicants must be eligible for one of the following licenses through the Indiana Department of Education and willing to obtain dual credit credentials through a partnering post-secondary institution:</p> <p>? CTE: Family & Consumer Sciences 5-12</p> <p>? Workplace Specialist: Education Professions 9-12</p> <p>? Any valid teaching license with proof of 5 years teaching experience</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>WHAT YOU'LL DO:</p> <p>Core Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>?Provide high-quality instruction aligned to Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) pathway competencies for Education Professions.</p> <p>?Deliver engaging lessons that prepare students for dual credit coursework, certifications, and success in future teaching careers.</p> <p>?Provide regular, detailed feedback to students and families on progress, attendance, and achievement.</p> <p>?Maintain accurate student files, training records, and documentation for certifications.</p> <p>?Collaborate with other CTE instructors, administrators, and advisory board members to strengthen the program.</p> <p>?Prepare lesson plans and instructional resources to meet pathway objectives.</p> <p>?Create and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.</p> <p>?Sponsor or co-sponsor an Education Professions student club to extend learning beyond the classroom.</p> <p>?Organize and serve on the Education Professions Advisory Board.</p> <p>? Ensure accurate and timely entry of student grades, attendance, and data into Student Information System (SIS).</p> <p>?Maintain, inventory, and manage classroom tools, equipment, and technology.</p> <p>?Establish and foster partnerships with community organizations and educational institutions to provide student opportunities.</p> <p>?Demonstrate strong human relations skills when interacting with students, staff, parents, and community partners.</p> <p>?Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Career Academy Coordinator.</p> <p>"Day In the Life" Overview:</p> <p>On a typical day, the Education Professions Teacher might:</p> <p>?Teach multiple sections of Education Professions pathway courses.</p> <p>?Guide students through hands-on teaching labs or field experiences at partner schools.</p> <p>?Provide coaching and mentoring to students pursuing the Education Professions certification.</p> <p>?Sponsor or supervise a student-led club meeting focused on education careers.</p> <p>?Participate in a Professional Learning Community (PLC) meeting to review student progress and program development.</p> <p>?Connect with advisory board members or community partners to discuss opportunities for student experiences.</p> <p>WHAT YOU'LL BRING: SKILLS AND MINDSETS</p> <p>?Strong teaching background with experience working with adolescents.</p> <p>?Knowledge of instructional strategies that engage diverse learners.</p> <p>?Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.</p> <p>?Ability to build positive and productive relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners.</p> <p>?Organizational skills for planning, recordkeeping, and program management.</p> <p>?Commitment to fostering equity and inclusion in the classroom.</p> <p>?Adaptability and creativity in problem-solving and instructional delivery.</p> <p>?Professionalism, integrity, and ethical practice in all responsibilities.</p> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.</p> <p>LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations.</p> <p>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.</p> <p>REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.</p> <p>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must hold a valid Indiana State Teacher's License in Elementary Education (K-6).
