IF YOU ARE NOT AN ELIGIBLE CCA STUDENT, YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.</p> <p>The Department of Visual and Performing Arts is seeking part-time student assistants for performing arts projects, events, publicity, and day-to-day functions</p> <p>JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Day-to-day maintenance of the Fine Arts Building classrooms including restocking, removal of outdated flyers, inventory of classroom supplies, taking note of work orders or repairs needed, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with the execution of performing arts events, including theatre productions Examples of support may include:</p> </li><li> <p>Assistance with hanging and striking lighting instruments</p> </li><li> <p>Assistance with installing and testing sound equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Operating light and/or sound boards for VPA functions</p> </li><li> <p>Scenic construction and painting</p> </li><li> <p>Sourcing and stocking props and costumes</p> </li><li> <p>Sweeping, mopping, and maintaining event spaces</p> </li><li> <p>Greeting audiences and ushering</p> </li><li> <p>Regular maintenance of VPA spaces, including the theatre, production studio, dance classroom, and others, including assistance with inventory and maintenance of equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Support with marketing such as: creating and designing social media posts for performing arts events, distributing flyers and posters, tabling at fairs</p> </li><li> <p>Printing and copying as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the Director of Operations and Department Chair with additional operational duties as assigned</p> </li><li> <p>Take responsibility for timesheet, time off, tracking hours, and making adjustments in the schedule, as per work study allotment, communicating with supervisor any schedule changes</p> </li><li> <p>Note: hours may vary depending on departmental needs, some evenings and weekends may be required</p> </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Ability to develop and implement work plans </li><li>Ability to work individually and independently,taking ownership of assigned tasks and completing them in a timely manner </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Google applications </li><li>Familiarity with social media platforms </li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills </li><li>Knowledge of or experience in the performing arts or event management a plus </li><li>Flexibility and a positive attitude </li><li>Willingness to ask for help and problem solve </li><li>Ability to stand or sit for long periods, ability to life 25 pounds </li></ul> <p>ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Must have completed FAFSA on file </li><li>Must be enrolled in a minimum six (6) credit hours </li><li>Must NOT have yet obtained 1st Bachelor's Degree </li><li>Must be seeking an eligible program of study </li></ul> <p>By applying for this announced position, applicants are certifying that all statements, information and documents provided are true, complete and correct to the best of their knowledge and are made in good faith.
