How would you like to become a part of a team providing compassionate whole health care to Veterans?</p> <p>This position functions as a Lead Accountant located within the Finance Service at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. The purpose of this position is to lead the performance of the full range of professional accounting work and requires the application of sound accounting principles, theories, concepts and practices.</p> <p>The duties include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Plans, coordinates and performs one-time/recurring comprehensive reviews, special studies and selective internal examinations of finance and accounting functions. </li><li>Reviews the work of Accountants, Accounting Technicians, Financial Analysts, and other services to ensure accuracy and conformity to policy and procedures. </li><li>Reviews report media, directs and/or prepares and analyzes internal and external statements and reports (e.g, Statement of Financial Conditions, Selected Data, Analysis of Costs Incurred and Statement of Selected Support Data, etc.). </li><li>Resolving simple, informal complaints of employees and referring others, such as formal grievances and appeals, to the supervisor or an appropriate management official. </li><li>Maintaining program and administrative reference materials, project files, and relevant background documents and making available policies, procedures, and written instructions from the supervisor. </li><li>Training or arranging for the training of team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks or projects and providing or arranging for specific administrative or technical training necessary for accomplishment of individual and team tasks. </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday</p> <p>Virtual: This is not a virtual position</p> <p>Position Description/PD#: Lead Accountant/PD104400</p> <p>Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized</p> <p>Critical Skills Incentive (CSI): Not Approved</p> <p>Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized</p>
