<p>TITLE: Master Scheduler</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Supply Chain Manager</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Supply Chain</p> <p>EXEMPTION STATUS: Full-Time, Salary, Exempt</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY: The Master Scheduler plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by developing, maintaining, and optimizing production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products while maximizing resource utilization. This position requires close collaboration with production, procurement, engineering, and sales teams to align manufacturing capabilities with customer demand and inventory targets. The Master Scheduler is responsible for analyzing production data, identifying bottlenecks, and proactively adjusting schedules to mitigate risks and minimize downtime. By maintaining accurate and up-to-date schedules, this role supports efficient workflow, reduces lead times, and enhances overall operational performance. Ultimately, the Master Scheduler ensures that manufacturing operations run smoothly, meeting both internal goals and customer expectations consistently.</p> <p>PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:</p> <ul> <li>Manages the production and assembly planning team. </li><li>Advanced planning at a strategic level looking out months, coordinating with sales, and feeding information into the ERP system driving procurement and production. </li><li>Planning labor and bill of materials looking 16-20 weeks out. </li><li>Develops the master schedule and orchestrate the integration with dispatching shop order release, shop floor control, change control, warehousing/stores, and planning functions to improve the delivery of parts and material. </li><li>Secures supply chain alignment with production needs. </li><li>Manages risk of supply chain via effective feedback to sourcing and appropriate informing and escalation. </li><li>Leads the team in setting and achieving team goals. </li><li>Ensures that projects, department milestones/goals are met and adhered to approved budgets. </li><li>Supports material review board activity to mitigate risk to delivery schedules. </li><li>Offers technical expertise to cross functional project teams. </li><li>Leads by example and motivates team members by creating a challenging, empowering, and collaborative working environment. </li><li>Ensures the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM). </li><li>Take responsibility for obsolete parts process & inventory write-off process ensuring minimum liability and minimal waste. </li><li>Designs, develops, and implements flexible solutions to aid business efficiency, drive process improvements and add value. </li><li>Manages, coaches, and develops a high performing team that meets agreed upon objectives and which delivers best-practice results, added value and continuous improvement. </li><li>Ensure that any MRP or IT system in place is effective and that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required. </li><li>Investigates and implements system enhancement initiatives. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or equivalent work experience in manufacturing related field. </li><li>Strategic thinker, strong analytical skills, able to synthesize considerable and complex data. </li><li>Solid, proven organizational, project management and leadership skills. </li><li>Experience managing direct reports such as planners, dispatchers, and coordinators, etc. </li><li>Ability to prepare, execute & review SMART goals with team members in alignment with overall Supply Chain strategy. </li><li>Team player able to work well through business operations. </li><li>Demonstrated work experience in supply chain with extensive demonstrated success of implementing and operationalizing master schedules, material planning & dispatching. </li><li>Skill with enabling change, strong influencing abilities particularly within Supply Chain and other internal customer groups. </li><li>Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles. </li><li>Material requirements planning and BPCS software experience preferred. </li><li>APICS certification preferred. </li></ul> <p>Skills Required:</p> <ul> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Excel. </li><li>Solid interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills. </li><li>Excellent project management skills. </li><li>Proven management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development. </li><li>Excellent attention to detail. </li><li>Results orientated and organized with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines. </li><li>Experience leading cross-functional projects. </li><li>Highly proficient utilizing AS400 system applications. </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>This position typically functions in the normal office environment. In some cases, work requires periodic temperature changes and occasional exposure and discomfort to hear, dust, noise. </li><li>Extended work hours periodically required. </li><li>Work requires frequent or occasional computer use, keyboarding and in some cases, occasional lifting, pulling or carrying up to 25 pounds. </li><li>Work frequently requires attention to details. Frequent pressures related to meeting deadlines; scheduling requirements and simultaneous projects are required. Work is frequently affected by distracting influences such as people, telephone calls, etc. </li></ul>
