<p>Recruitment, Retention, & Certification Specialist</p> <p>JOB STATUS: OPEN POSTING DATE: 06/04/2025 CLOSING DATE: 06/17/2025 04:00 PM POSTING NUMBER: 050101 LOCATION: Admin Human Resources - 726 POSITION TITLE: Recruitment, Retention, & Certification Specialist</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION:</p> <p>This supplemental position has been approved for the upcoming school year. The position is funded 100% through Title II, Part A as allowable under ESSA. It will require time and effort to demonstrate duties performed that reflect the intent and purpose of the Title II program. In the absence of funds and/or the needs of the district, continuation of this position can be rescinded.</p> <p>Manage the District's recruitment/retention efforts of professional staff and assist principals in identifying appropriate certification pathways and requirements for teacher assignment according to SBEC assignment criteria.</p> <p>DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Develop effective recruiting plans and strategies. </li><li>Coordinate and participate in professional recruiting efforts, including job fairs, universities, electronic and social media, virtual events, and relevant portions of the HR website, etc. </li><li>Develop and maintain active liaison with college and university career teacher preparation officials and placement offices, Regional Education Service Center staff, professional associates, and other recruiting resource organizations. </li><li>Coordinate and oversee yearlong teacher candidates/residents, including student teacher receptions, ensuring appropriate alignment with teacher certification content areas and placement experience. </li><li>Oversee university partnerships, such as the 4+1 TEACH program, Year-Long Clinical Teaching/Residency, EdAide Cohort, etc., including tracking and reporting requirements. </li><li>Prepare data for the Council for Minority Teacher Recruitment & Retention, and coordinate efforts of the Council. </li><li>Develop, maintain, and order recruiting materials and displays, and maintain an active inventory of materials. </li><li>Provide recruitment support and resources, including rosters of job fair contacts of appropriately certified applicants to principals, in multiple formats, including Canvas and the principal drive. </li><li>Actively recruit, interview, check references, and develop pools of applicants in identified shortage areas, including bilingual teachers, special education teachers, diagnosticians, etc. </li><li>Plan and coordinate the annual Conroe ISD Job Fair and District mini-job fairs. </li><li>Monitor and track new hires and recruitment/retention efforts, including new hire surveys, ethnicity, turnover rates, and Conroe ISD graduates. </li><li>Collect data from District to determine trends in staffing, including bilingual and minority staff. </li><li>Collaborate with human resources director/assistant director/coordinator to determine needs of staff. </li><li>Coordinate scholarship initiatives, including the process of advertising available scholarships, overseeing the process of ensuring candidates meet pre-determined criteria for scholarships, the distribution of funds, and the District responsibilities associated with the scholarships. </li><li>Verify certification requirements for professional employees and provide practical guidance on problem resolution to support campus hiring needs. </li><li>Assist with tracking and analyzing department progress toward the Goal 3 of the District Improvement Plan, which is to employ, develop, and retain highly qualified staff to maximize learning for all students. </li><li>Plan, advertise, and host the annual Alternative Certification Program (ACP) Information Night. </li><li>Prepare presentations for the Human Resources Department directors/coordinator. </li><li>Promote CISD's reputation as "best place to work". </li><li>Comply with District policies, as well as state and Federal laws and regulations affecting the schools. </li><li>Pursue and participate in professional activities; disseminate ideas and information to other professionals. </li><li>Observe professional, ethical standards in accordance with generally accepted community standards and the Texas Education Agency Code of Ethics. </li><li>Assist with all job and health fair activities. </li><li>Regular attendance. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality. </li><li>Maintain files/records. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Three years successful experience in Human Resources including one year of recruiting, or </li><li>Three years successful teaching experience in Texas public schools </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Education/Certification:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li></ul> <p>Special Knowledge/Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Thorough understanding of school administrative operations </li><li>Excellent organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to evaluate and interpret data and generate reports </li><li>Computer knowledge and experience with various programs including Human Resources databases, applicant tracking system </li></ul> <p>CONTACT INFORMATION:</p> <p>Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress.
