<p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Assists with pre-procedure education and preparing patient for procedure.</p> <ul> <li>Collaborates with other staff to assure patient has a thorough understanding of procedure and is able to </li></ul> <p>answer questions as needed.</p> <ul> <li>Assures patient is positioned properly for the procedure. </li><li>Assures EKG electrodes are properly placed and cardiac electrodes correctly applied. </li><li>Assures skin is prepped and sterilized appropriately prior to procedural draping. </li><li>Sets up patient and sterile equipment in accordance to the performing physician's preferences. </li></ul> <p>Scrubs and assists physicians during procedures.</p> <ul> <li>Assists physician in sterile placement of invasive and hemodynamic monitoring equipment. </li><li>Uses fine motor skills to assist physician with the placement/deployment/use of invasive catheters, wires, </li></ul> <p>balloons, stents, structural heart devices, Intra-aortic balloon counter-pulsation equipment, percutaneous left</p> <p>ventricular assist devices, implantable cardiac devices, and electrophysiology catheters/3-D intra-cardiac</p> <p>conduction mapping.</p> <p>Performs monitoring function throughout procedures. Documents clinical information in patient record.</p> <ul> <li>Operates hemodynamic monitoring equipment. </li><li>Recognize and report changes in the cardiac rhythm. </li><li>Recognize and report changes in hemodynamic waveforms. </li><li>Accurately documents the flow of events from start thru completion of procedure. </li></ul> <p>Performs arterial and/or venous sheath removal utilizing deployment of closure devices, manual pressure, or</p> <p>mechanical compression and transport patients.</p> <p>Performs daily maintenance, quality assurance testing, equipment cleaning, and supply re-stocking.</p> <p>Effectively communicates and works cooperatively with team members, patients, families, guests, and providers</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>REQUIRED:</p> <p>Medical Radiographer: NE</p> <p>Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)</p> <p>Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) N/A within 6 -</p> <p>months</p> <p>Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT (RTR) N/A</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy, our focus is patient-centered care.
