<p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A minimum of two to three years of advanced clerical experience in a tax collection, property appraisal, real estate, or related accounting environment to include one year at a supervisory level is required. Additional experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. A Paralegal Certificate may substitute for two years of the required education. PREFERENCE Revenue collection and disbursement experience to include financial reporting and integration of business system solutions is highly preferred.</p> <p>Recruitment Notes</p> <p>This position is responsible for overseeing the financial integrity of the Tax Collector's Office by ensuring full compliance with statutory accounting requirements related to revenue collection, distribution, and reporting. The incumbent must possess a strong command of Florida State Statutes, Department of Revenue regulations, and local government financial policies. Responsibilities include managing complex year-end closing processes, distribution requirements, and recapitulation reports while proactively resolving discrepancies and ensuring timely and accurate financial results. The role also requires establishing and maintaining operating procedures that promote consistent accounting practices and strong internal controls.</p> <p>A deep understanding of TAXSYS functionality and the Tax Collector's operational environment is essential, including the ability to recommend system enhancements that improve financial accuracy and efficiency. This position supports multiple operational areas and must be able to evaluate complex issues, provide sound accounting guidance, and develop practical solutions that facilitate business operations. Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to translate financial requirements into effective processes are critical to success in this role.</p>
