<p>Revision Date: 11/25/2013</p> <p>Department: Manufacturing</p> <p>Reports To: Manager, Assembly</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>Assembles a variety of dies reading and interpreting blueprints; troubleshoots as needed. Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems. Regularly operates and troubleshoots the most complex machines.</p> <p>PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES include:</p> <ul> <li>Performs assembly work from blueprints, specifications and other written and/or verbal instructions. </li><li>Reads and interprets blueprints to set up and operate all types of dies. </li><li>Uses full range of precision measuring and other common machine tools to complete tasks. </li><li>Runs air tests. </li><li>Records readings from indicators. </li><li>Works within all safety standards and uses safety equipment at all times. </li></ul> <p>Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned.</p> <p>Minimal requirements for education, knowledge and experience:</p> <p>Education</p> <p>High School diploma or GED required; Advanced 2-year technical degree in auto mechanics or journeyman machinist preferred.</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>Tool & Die background and/or mechanical and/or machinist background preferred.</p> <p>Other</p> <p>Knowledge of geometry and trigonometry</p> <p>Skill in using geometric tolerancing</p> <p>Solid ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications</p> <p>Ability to produce precision work</p> <p>Ability to use a variety of machine shop tools</p> <p>Ability to run air tests</p> <p>Ability to work safely</p> <p>Strong mechanical aptitude</p> <p>Solid critical thinking skills</p> <p>Advanced mathematical skills</p> <p>Ability to work with minimal supervision</p> <p>This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to stand long periods of time </li><li>Ability to lift and carry 40-50 lbs on a regular basis </li><li>Visual acuity to read directions and prints and to inspect machined parts closely to ensure they meet specifications. </li><li>Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work. </li><li>Work schedule generally consists of 40 hours per week, which may include on-call status, evenings, and/or weekends. </li></ul>
