<p>Description</p> <p>Wage Range: $68.46 - $109.51 per hour</p> <p>Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Under the general direction of the Department Manager and guided by the Chief Medical Physicist who oversees daily work, the Dosimetrist translates the prescription for a course of radiation therapy by generating radiation dose distributions and calculations for each patient. The Dosimetrist works closely with the Radiation Oncologist staff and Radiation Therapists.</p> <p>Primary Duties:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Following the dose prescription specified by the radiation oncologist, plans a treatment technique by means of computer and/or manual computation that will deliver a prescribed radiation dose to a defined tumor volume.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates treatment simulations and tumor localizations, including diagnostic imaging studies such as CT, PET and MRI, when indicated for radiation therapy treatment planning.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervises and/or assists in planning of the fabrication of compensating filters, custom shields, wedges, and other beam modifying devices.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervises and/or assists in the planning or the production of moulds, casts, and other immobilization devices.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervises the therapist staff in the implementation of the treatment plan i.e.: correct use of immobilization devices, compensators, wedges, field arrangement, and other treatment parameters.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>License, Certification, Education or Experience:</p> <p>REQUIRED for the position:</p> <p>? Graduate from an accredited program of Dosimetry</p> <p>? Experience with Radiation Oncology treatment planning and related systems</p> <p>? Medical Dosimetry Certification Board eligible, certified within 2 years of hire</p> <p>? Current Healthcare Provider BLS - American Heart Association by start date</p> <p>? Knowledge of charge capture for dosimetry procedure billing</p> <p>DESIRED for the position:</p> <p>? Practical experience in Advanced Radiation Therapy Dosimetry Planning, i.e. IMRT, SBRT, Brachytherapy, etc.</p> <p>?
