Join a team of passionate educators dedicated to making a difference!</p> <p>Adjunct faculty members are responsible for delivering curriculum, providing instruction, and performing student learning assessment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning. Courses at Waubonsee Community College may be offered in various delivery modes including, but not limited to, face-to-face, asynchronous online, synchronous online, hybrid, and flex. However, Waubonsee does not hire fully remote instructors dye to the in-person onboarding, faculty development, and student support required.</p> <p>WLD 100 - Survey of Welding</p> <p>This course introduces the principles and practical applications of major manual and semi-automatic welding and cutting processes. Emphasis is placed on the proper selection and use of each welding process.</p> <p>WLD 120 - Shielded Metal Arc Welding I (SMAW)</p> <p>This course covers the theory and practice of shielded metal arc (stick) welding. Students practice process techniques using various types of mild steel electrodes in all four positions. Safety, electrode classifications, welding currents/polarities, and the five basic welding joints are emphasized.</p> <p>WLD 220 - Shielded Metal Arc Welding II (SMAW)</p> <p>This course focuses on shielded metal arc welding on V-grooves. Students practice V-grooves with and without backing in all four positions. Safety, welding standards, and electrode classifications are reinforced.</p> <p>Essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:</p> <p>Designing syllabi, lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments to meet the established course description as well as program, course, and college learning outcomes and/or objectives while addressing each student's needs as diverse learners.</p> <p>Meeting all college deadlines for submission of attendance, grades and data collection for assessment of student learning.</p> <p>Incorporating learning-centered principles and concepts while motivating students to actively participate in their educational experiences.</p> <p>Integrating instructional and classroom technology (if applicable) appropriately and effectively to deliver and enhance teaching and learning.</p> <p>Working collaboratively with professional colleagues to serve the needs of students and the community.</p> <p>Modeling professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.</p> <p>Minimum Experience</p> <p>Associate's degree in Industrial Technology or related field and/or industry certification(s) and 4000 hours of work-related experience in the field.</p> <p>Preferred Experience</p> <p>Experience teaching at a Community College or Vocational/Technical institution.</p> <p>Teaching traditionally underserved populations.</p> <p>Incorporating technology and multimedia applications into teaching and learning process.</p> <p>Teaching in multiple instructional modalities.</p> <p>Utilizing Learning Management Systems.</p> <p>Please attach the following documents when applying:</p> <ul> <li>Cover Letter-Yes </li><li>Resume-Yes </li><li>References-Yes </li><li>Transcripts-Yes </li></ul> <p>Position Details</p> <p>req2098</p> <p>Grant Funded: No</p> <p>Work Schedule: Fall Semester</p> <p>Testing: No</p> <p>Benefits: Click to See Benefits Page</p> <p>Minimum semester pay per course: $3,363</p> <p>Please attach any copies of transcripts, certifications, or accreditations if applicable.
