This role will be based in the U.S., aligning with Ericsson's strategic focus on expanding its presence in the North American market.</p> <p>As a business development leader, you will manage strategic programs and initiatives aimed at driving impactful market development, boost US Defense sector mobile communications innovation to evolve towards next generations and ensure alignment with Ericsson's strategic goals within the defense sector. This global position offers a unique opportunity to shape how defense organizations leverage mission-critical connectivity for operational excellence and influence Ericsson's market leadership.</p> <p>What You Will Do</p> <ul> <li>US Innovation Focus: Collaborate with Ericsson US local teams towards innovation within the U.S. Defense sector's mobile communications ecosystem, aligning strategies with Ericsson's goals to develop and deploy leading-edge solutions in support of the DoD's FutureG plans. </li><li>Strategic Initiatives: Oversee the execution of strategic initiatives aimed at removing barriers, and strengthening partnerships, and will boost US Defense sector mobile communications innovation. </li><li>Market Engagement: Engage with senior executives across industries to position Ericsson as a leader in MCN innovation, aligning offerings with strategic goals and driving industry forum participation. </li><li>Cross-Functional Coordination: Lead cross-functional teams working on high-impact market and business development programs, mentoring junior team members to build organizational capability in business development in the defense area. </li><li>Performance Oversight: Ensure that market development initiatives are well-documented, tracked against agreed-upon milestones, and lead to quantifiable results for Ericsson. </li></ul> <p>The position requires</p> <ul> <li>Deep understanding of the following in relation to the critical communications market: </li><li>Familiarity with the industry, understanding economics, dynamics, regulations and ecosystem. </li><li>Business development and procurement process with Government and public agencies in charge of Defense communications services. </li><li>End-users operational requirements and ways of working, including specific requirements and models for delivery, support and operating practices. </li><li>Understanding the implementation of complex technology solutions in the defense communications area, mapping operational requirements to technical execution. </li><li>Business models & total cost of ownership cycles over long lifecycle periods. </li></ul> <p>Join our Team</p> <p>You will bring</p> <ul> <li>General skills & behaviors: </li><li>Bachelor's in engineering (or similar degree) with solid understanding of mobile communications market. </li><li>Experience in Defense market: at least 10 years working in related positions and well-accepted in the market. </li><li>Entrepreneurship: capability to plan, anticipate and adapt to changes, guiding an effective response. Drive while keeping both learning and challenger spirit. </li><li>Perseverance: Navigating long-sales cycles with resiliency and self-confidence, while continue pushing avoiding frustration. </li><li>Customer oriented: understand end user environment (operational structure, processes, requirements) and add new value for customers and for the company, with flexibility to adapt conversations to the receiver </li><li>Strong analytical skills: perform regular market analysis, define and keep updated business strategy accordingly with clear targets, guidelines and priorities. </li><li>Teammate, collaborative and integrity: used to work in multinational and diverse environments, communicating with empathy and facilitating everyone to perform at their best.
