<p>Position Description</p> <p>This position is responsible for the planning and coordination of EMS courses with fire and rescue agencies including EMT academies, face-to-face continuing medical education, and online/hybrid continuing medical education courses, and is also responsible for providing supervision and guidance to EMS instructional faculty and oversight of the EMS academies internal and external. This position is also responsible for providing effective instruction for EMS courses and assisting the Department Head as a first-line manager of personnel within the EMS Department.</p> <p>Anticipated Salary: $75,000</p> <p>Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. attendance in a timely manner </li><li>Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour </li><li>Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment </li><li>Grades and returns student work in a timely manner </li><li>Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course </li><li>Plans, coordinates, and designs a schedule of instruction for EMS CE for fire and rescue departments to maintain currency and rigor and to fully implement and evaluate student learning outcomes and overall program outcomes while providing supervision and guidance to faculty </li><li>Serves as Lead Instructor for EMT courses within the established academies </li><li>Submits new EMS courses and revises existing courses to be delivered in traditional, online, and hybrid formats utilizing the WTCC Course Copy system for approval </li><li>Collaborates with internal and external auditors to ensure program compliance with all NCCCS and NCOEMS rules and regulations </li></ul> <p>Maintains ongoing communications with each affiliating agency to discuss, arrange, and improve EMS CE as prescribed by accreditation standards</p> <p>Compiles and analyzes data in preparation for accreditation and assessment initiatives Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner</p> <p>Maintains necessary North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services records</p> <p>Maintains appropriate certifications, credentials, and licenses</p> <p>Performs job functions at off-site locations such as fire departments and other public entities</p> <p>Participates in student recruiting, orientation, registration, and advising, as assigned</p> <p>Secures college assets such as equipment, supplies and facilities</p> <p>Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course</p> <p>Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction</p> <p>Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom</p> <p>Attends professional development opportunities when possible</p> <p>Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus</p> <p>Participates in graduation exercises</p> <p>Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment</p> <p>Assists with hiring, evaluation, performance management, (class visits) and professional development of adjunct faculty</p> <p>Attends departmental, divisional, and supports meetings as required</p> <p>Recommends certified and qualified instructors for delivery of EMT courses within the academy</p> <p>Schedules traditional classes at locations, times and formats that meets NCOEMS guidelines</p> <p>Participates in the marketing new programs, recruiting students, and instructors</p> <p>Audits classes, delivers, and receives course materials from instructors and proctors</p> <p>Maintains current knowledge of the discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <p>Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning</p> <p>Be innovative, creative, motivated</p> <p>Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others</p> <p>Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently Good organizational skills</p> <p>Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision</p> <p>Excellent communication skills both written and verbal</p> <p>Must have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to troubleshoot difficult projects</p> <p>Must demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills</p> <p>Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential</p> <p>Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends</p> <p>Ability to maintain confidentiality</p> <p>Ability to work independently on a wide variety of professional tasks</p> <p>Exhibit strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills to deal effectively with the various college staff, faculty, students, and members of the community</p> <p>Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills and be able to troubleshoot difficult projects</p> <p>Demonstrates good judgement and decision-making skills</p> <p>Broad knowledge of EMS education practices and regulatory compliance standards</p> <p>Reliable and punctual in maintaining operational schedules</p> <p>Demonstrated ability to utilize computer technology to teach, access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate</p> <p>Demonstrated oral and written communication skills to interact with a variety of staff and students</p> <p>Ability to work both independently and within a team environment</p> <p>Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills</p> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <p>Associate degree</p> <p>Two years of teaching in a post-secondary educational environment</p> <p>North Carolina Advanced EMT certification or National Registry AEMT with eligibility for reciprocity to obtain a North Carolina AEMT credential or higher</p> <p>Two year experience in a supervisory or leadership position</p> <p>North Carolina Level-I Instructor Certification or equivalent</p> <p>Unofficial transcripts must be attached with your online application prior to submission or submitted to
