<p>Job Title: Medical Assistant</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>This position functions as a Medical Assistant within the department, ensuring the smooth operation of the clinical office. The role involves preparing and maintaining exam rooms, managing charts, obtaining reports and records, assisting with patient flow, and providing direct patient care.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Interact directly with patients in a clinic setting and complete clinical tasks such as obtaining vital signs, performing phlebotomy, and verifying medications. </li><li>Prepare for office hours by obtaining charts, scheduling tests, and preparing exam rooms. </li><li>Support smooth patient flow through effective communication and coordination. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in medical assisting tasks. </li><li>Knowledge in healthcare operations and Epic systems. </li><li>Effective communication skills for interaction with physicians, patients, families, and support staff. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. </li><li>Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology. </li><li>Fundamentals of medical terminology. </li><li>Experience and knowledge in electronic medical records. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Current CCMA (through NHA) or RMA (through AMT) REQUIRED </li><li>BLS required </li><li>Two years or more of Medical Assistant experience preferred. </li><li>Experience with electronic medical records is advantageous. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The role is based in a primary care setting with eight providers, requiring cross-training in both front and back office functions. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, either 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job</p> <p>classification and length of employment.
