<p>Choate Rosemary Hall seeks a candidate for the Head Equipment Room Manager position. This position will manage all matters relating to athletic uniforms and equipment: purchasing, issue, collection, maintenance, repairs, and inventory. Interact with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty, staff, vendors, parents, and visitors. This position will also ensure the safe and organized operation of the Worthington Johnson Athletic Center.</p> <p>Major Responsibilities/Activities</p> <ul> <li>Plan, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to provide necessary equipment room operation. </li><li>In conjunction with the Athletics Operations Supervisor, establish a work schedule, and supervise equipment room staff. </li><li>Responsible for maintaining a complete and accurate inventory of all equipment, apparel, and supplies for assigned sports through an inventory system. Create a needs-based list per sport per season. Document lost or damaged items and replacement or restoration of these items. Report student losses to the Financial Office. Resolve parent issues with billed charges for lost items. </li><li>Inspect clothing, uniforms, and equipment for needed repairs; make minor repairs to clothing and equipment, and arrange for major repairs with outside reconditioners. </li><li>Work closely with the Athletics Operations Supervisor to ensure the design, color, and style of equipment adhere to Choate Athletics brand standards for uniforms, team stores, and team items. Comply with Financial Office protocols in handling invoices and manage the equipment room operating budget. </li><li>Supervise inside/outside setups and takedowns for games and practices. Provide necessary equipment information as needed during the planning/operation of athletic-related upgrades to buildings and fields. </li><li>Establish a laundry protocol following the manufacturer's recommendations for care. Evaluate and repair protective equipment per NOCSAE, NCAA, and NFHS standards. </li><li>Arrange for team stores for student-athletes to purchase sport-specific items not provided by the Department of Athletics. </li><li>Fit equipment for athletes for each specific sport in compliance with NOCSAE, NCAA, and NFHS standards. </li><li>Manage all indoor and outdoor scoreboard units and teach coaches as necessary. </li><li>Oversee the cleanliness, quality, safety, and good repair of locker rooms and maintain accurate records of individuals using locker facilities (student and adult). </li><li>Know and assist in carrying out all aspects of the facility emergency plan. </li><li>Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics </li></ul> <p>Essential Physical Requirements</p> <p>Needs to be able to lift and bend to set up for game days and special events: move bleacher seating, set up scorer's table and chairs, and move wrestling mats.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising an equipment room in an educational environment or equivalent.</p> <p>Some college and/or associate's degrees are required; bachelor's degrees are preferred.</p> <p>AEMA certification required (or obtained within 3 years of hire).</p> <p>CPR/AED certification is required.</p> <p>Must have basic computer skills: email, word processing, spreadsheet, inventory management.</p> <p>Must have the ability to repair athletic equipment, including knowledge of sewing.</p> <p>Job Description Supplement for Management/Professional Jobs</p> <p>Decision Making</p> <p>Decisions about what and when to purchase athletic equipment.</p> <p>Collaborate with facility usage decisions (inclement weather).</p> <p>Schedule a five-day/40-hour work week with rotating Saturday coverage; proceeding day off in the following week. In addition, works high-volume Saturday game days (Alumni Weekend, Deerfield Day, and Family Weekend).</p> <p>Job Dimensions</p> <p>Oversee/manage an inventory worth approximately $800,000. Manage the pro shop and the athletic equipment purchase operating budgets. Report all student losses to the financial office. Collaborate actively with colleagues in the Athletics Department and other areas of the School to execute job functions.</p>
