Yes</p> <p>County Wayne</p> <p>Street Address 1385 Morgan Rd</p> <p>City Savannah</p> <p>StateNY</p> <p>Zip Code13146</p> <p>Duties Description Assist with all aspects of Bureau of Wildlife work, primarily in Wayne and Seneca Counties, including but not limited to: habitat and access work on Wildlife Management Areas; water level and wetland management; invasive plant identification and control including chemical control; grassland and wetland restoration; native seed collection; wildlife surveys; big game harvest data collection; waterfowl banding; ring-necked pheasant release; nuisance wildlife response; and wildlife health monitoring. Other job duties include regular communication with the public, assistance with volunteer and public outreach events, equipment maintenance, data entry, and summary report writing.</p> <p>Most wildlife surveys require early morning or late evening hours. Most of the work will be outdoors and can include areas with poison ivy, stinging insects, adverse weather, etc.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries, marine resources, or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine, or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications: Waterfowl and marsh bird identification skills; good mechanical aptitude; wetland plant identification skills; familiarity with MS Word and Excel software, mapping (GPS/GIS), and data management; invasive plant control experience; experience with boats, canoes, 4-wheelers, firearms, and power tools; good communication skills, ability to work well with others, and a willingness to learn.</p> <p>Additional Comments This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 11/30/2026.
