<p>IN DISTRICT ONLY:</p> <p>Join us for our extended school program! We are looking for Para Educator Bus Aide for the extended school year where you would be riding with students to school in the morning and in the afternoon to and from their school location.</p> <p>Interview Process: Applicants are encouraged to apply by the deadline of April 13th, 2026. If selected for an interview, you will be invited to complete an Asynchronous Virtual Interview.</p> <p>Location: Mountain View Elementary (Elementary) or Shelton High School (Secondary), dependent on assigned location and student.</p> <p>Dates: 6/22/2026 - 7/23/2026; However, if student disenrolls from program the position will not continue; Monday-Thursday (No summer school on Fridays or 7/4)</p> <p>Hours: 2-3 hours in the AM and 2-3 hours in the PM</p> <p>Location: Mountain View Elementary (Elementary) or Shelton High School (Secondary), dependent on assigned location.</p> <p>Pay: Pay is according to the 2025-2026 Para Educator Salary Schedule; the step placement will be according to the successful candidate's current step, ($23.03 - $26.18). Individual's will also be paid at the rate of $1.25 extra per hour for all time spent transporting students with IEP's. Time will be submitted on a timecard.</p> <p>FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)</p> <p>There will be some required meetings prior to the start of summer programs to prepare.</p> <p>REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Current Para Educator with Shelton School District </li><li>Ability and willingness to maintain regular attendance over the entire course of the summer program </li><li>Ability and willingness to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with staff, students, and families </li><li>Ability and willingness to work with a diverse student population including student with Individual Educational Plans (IEP's) </li><li>Ability and willingness to maintain a positive attitude at work </li><li>Ability and willingness to assist with student behavior </li><li>Ability and willingness to perform the essential functions of of the job with or without reasonable accommodations </li><li>Ability and willingness to sit for prolonged periods of time </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Supports the transportation of students in the morning and in the afternoon to school by supervising students during transport. </li><li>Ensure students and staff are safe during transportation to school. </li><li>Redirect student behavior when appropriate based on student's IEP and District Policies and Procedures. </li><li>Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities. </li><li>Provide medical assistance, physical support and personal care for the purpose of providing appropriate care for ill, medically fragile and/or children with disabilities. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul>
