<ul> <li>Evaluates and develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; designing, researching, modifying, and testing methods and equipment; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; and soliciting operator input. </li><li>Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout. </li><li>Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes. </li><li>Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements. </li><li>Partners with Maintenance to support equipment uptime and reliability; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service. </li><li>Manages productivity and performance data through data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, process mapping and problem analysis </li><li>Act as a change agent in the organization by driving change and implementing continuous improvement processes, while utilizing and improving existing methodologies. </li><li>Apply lean manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., value stream mapping, Kaizen, 5S, Gemba walks, root cause analysis) to identify and implement operational improvements in partnership with production and support functions. </li><li>Support NORD's North American satellite facilities through CI support, best-practice sharing, or layout/process input. </li><li>Coordinate input for GAM (Global Assembly Management) meetings to share best practices globally and oversee operations scorecard completion. </li><li>Responsible for Facility layout updates, documentation, and change coordination. </li><li>Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations. </li><li>Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. </li><li>On-time, within budget, completion of assigned projects </li><li>Support of plant safety objectives and proactive safety engagement </li><li>Support of quality, cost, productivity, and delivery performance targets. </li><li>Responsible for any additional duties and tasks as directed by his or her supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution required. </li><li>Other engineering degrees (e.g., Mechanical, Manufacturing, Systems) will be considered with demonstrated hands-on manufacturing and process improvement experience. </li><li>Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred. </li><li>PMP certification is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience working in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of Continuous Improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.) preferred. Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
