<p>Job Description:</p> <p>POSITION TITLE: Non-Credit Instructor - Digital Literacy Assistant (part-time)</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Economic and Business Development, Adult Education</p> <p>PRIMARY LOCATION: Online/Fall River</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Director of Adult Education</p> <p>POSITION STATUS: This is a part-time, non-unit position without benefits, not to exceed 18.5 hours per week.</p> <p>SALARY: $30.87/hr</p> <p>STATEMENT OF DUTIES:</p> <p>The Non-Credit Instructor - Digital Literacy Assistant (part-time) supports the Adult Education program by helping students use technology to access instruction and college- and career-readiness curricula. This role designs and delivers instruction that builds students' digital literacy skills, enabling full participation in the program and preparation for postsecondary education and employment.</p> <p>The Instructional Assistant - Digital Literacy also serves as the program's Northstar Digital Literacy coordinator, providing related instruction and administering and proctoring Northstar Digital Literacy Assessments.</p> <p>Instruction and support may be delivered one-on-one or in small groups, in person or remotely.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIES:</p> <ul> <li>Provide in-person and remote technology support to students, primarily in day and evening online program. </li><li>Instruct Adult Education students in the effective use of technology for independent learning and participation in online classrooms. </li><li>Assess the digital literacy needs of prospective and enrolled students and develop systems and supports to eliminate technology barriers to participation. </li><li>Deliver one-on-one and small-group instruction in digital literacy topics, including basic computer skills, email, internet use, Microsoft Office, Zoom, information literacy, social media, and instructional software. </li><li>Onboard students to and provide ongoing support as needed in the use of instructional software (e.g., Aztec, ENGen) and college learning systems and tools (e.g., Zoom, Canvas). </li><li>Create, manage, and support small group learning opportunities using the Northstar Digital Literacy curriculum; encourage student enrollment in Northstar. </li><li>Schedule, administer, and proctor Northstar Digital Literacy assessments. </li><li>Manage the Northstar credentialing process. </li><li>Stay current on educational technology tools and best practices through professional development. </li><li>Communicate effectively with colleagues and participate in staff and program team meetings. </li><li>Demonstrate professionalism and reflect Bristol's core values in all interactions with the college community. </li><li>Advance the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying equitable and inclusive practices across all job functions. </li><li>Complete required trainings, including but not limited to Title IX, FERPA, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Information Security. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education or a related field. </li><li>Knowledge of blended learning models and instructional and technology design principles. </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Zoom; ability to work remotely as needed. </li><li>Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new technologies. </li><li>Experience supporting learners in developing digital literacy skills. </li><li>Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work effectively with diverse populations across a wide range of educational skill levels. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks, use time effectively, and work independently. </li><li>Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening hours. </li><li>An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. </li><li>Personal Attributes The ideal candidate is friendly, flexible, detail-oriented, and passionate about serving adult learners and improving community literacy.
