<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Coordinates and conducts routine, unannounced and/or prescheduled searches and shakedowns of inmates, living areas, grounds and other areas. </li><li>Maintains required logs pertaining to documentation of accountability and disposition of contraband items and inmate drug testing results. </li><li>Completes necessary training to perform drug testing on all confiscated drugs. </li><li>Serves as an active member of the institution's drug interdiction team participating in all searches and activities as needed. </li><li>Ensures that all policies, rules and regulations pertaining to the chain of custody/evidence are followed. </li><li>Gathers information from institutional staff and inmates concerning possible contraband violations. </li><li>Instructs and evaluates contraband sergeant ensuring all reports are correct and forwarded as needed to include quarterly contraband report. </li><li>Reviews evidence cards for accuracy. </li><li>Follows up with DHO for disciplinary hearings. </li><li>Other duties as needed. </li></ul> <p>Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.</p> <p>Questions regarding the application process, this job posting or any other postings with the SCDC should be directed to:</p> <p>Recruiting and Employment Services</p> <p>(803) 896-1649</p> <p>Employment@doc.sc.gov</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:</p> <p>A high school diploma and relevant experience.
