<p>The Department of Biomedical Sciences at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) is actively searching for a highly qualified individual to fill a 12-month, full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Medical Cellular/Molecular Biology and Genetics. The successful applicant must have a PhD, MD, DO or related terminal degree and completion of a postdoctoral fellowship is desirable. A commitment to excellence in teaching is required as the primary responsibility of the position will include instruction in the Master of Biomedical Sciences, Osteopathic Medicine, and other graduate programs. Applicants with an equivalent combination of relevant and recent experience, education, or training that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Faculty in this position report to the Associate Dean for the Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences.</p> <p>The WVSOM Master of Biomedical Sciences program is a one-year (non-thesis) program that focuses on preparing students for healthcare careers, and in particular the rigors of medical education. Our program includes core biomedical science disciplines and courses that focus on health, wellness and disease prevention. The WVSOM Osteopathic Medicine program utilizes an integrated curriculum, employing a variety of formats and modalities that emphasize active learning. Team-teaching is routine and the successful applicant will be expected to work collaboratively in the delivery of the medical cellular/molecular biology and genetics content.</p> <p>Teaching facilities at WVSOM include a cutting-edge lecture facility, team-based learning room, and a state-of-the-art simulation center. This position will be filled at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor commensurate with experience. This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position with full state benefits. Faculty rank and salary is based on the individual's qualifications and includes an excellent benefits package and moving expenses. The position is exempt from FLSA provisions regarding overtime. Not all activities of this position occur within the confines of an 8:00-4:30 schedule and may require regular evening and weekend scheduling.
