<p>THE ROLE: Research Analyst</p> <p>American Student Assistance (ASA) is national nonprofit that is changing the way kids learn about careers and prepare for their futures through access to career-readiness information and experiences.</p> <p>ASA fulfills its mission through free digital-first direct experiences, philanthropy, advocacy, thought leadership, groundbreaking research, and impact investing. We believe that exploring career possibilities, as early as middle school, and providing access to education-to-career pathways aligned with one's passions and goals will result in greater confidence and long-term success for all students.</p> <p>We are hiring a Research Analyst. This role will report directly to the Director of Research and Insights and be responsible for partnering with the Research and Insights team on internal-facing and external-facing projects that advance ASA's organizational priorities.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <p>Data Analysis: Ensure data integrity by performing data cleaning, validation, and preparation tasks across diverse datasets; Produce topline statistics, subgroup comparisons, and multivariate analyses to explore key research questions; Apply statistical tools and techniques (e.g., regression analysis, clustering, significance testing, driver analysis) to uncover insights and explain variation in outcomes; Translate complex findings into compelling visualizations and dashboards that are understandable to non-technical audiences.</p> <p>Strategic Planning & Development: Identify and propose high-impact research projects aligned with ASA's mission and priorities, particularly those that inform federal, state, or local education policies; Collaborate with policy experts to design studies that leverage state and national datasets to analyze student outcomes.</p> <p>Innovation & Leadership: Collaborate with the Research & Insights team to shape our research agenda and analytical approaches.</p> <p>About You:</p> <ul> <li>5-10 years of experience required, in a research, polling, analyst, or a related role. </li><li>Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and develop actionable insights. </li><li>Experience with research and statistical tools including for example STATA, SPSS, Dataiku, and/or other similar tools. </li><li>Experienced professional with the ability to translate the big picture into action. </li></ul> <p>Why ASA?</p> <p>ASA offers a wide range of perks and benefits to Associates, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision healthcare plans, a retirement plan (plus match), weekly lunches, commuter benefits, and tuition reimbursement.</p> <p>We also heavily prioritize a healthy work/life balance, which is why we offer all full-time associates generous PTO options, Summer Fridays (every Friday off between Memorial Day and Labor Day), and a company holiday break between December 25th and January 1st.</p> <p>ASA works in a Hybrid schedule (2) two days a week in our Boston HQ.
