<p>The Davidson County Chancery Court, Part III in Nashville, Tennessee is seeking a qualified person for the position of Senior Law Clerk for Chancellor I'Ashea L. Myles. The senior law clerk supports the Chancellor by performing administrative tasks as required and by conducting legal research, preparing legal memoranda, orders, and draft opinions. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Chancellor.</p> <ul> <li>Research issues of federal and state law. </li><li>Draft bench briefs, legal memoranda, opinions, and orders. </li><li>Prepare the Chancellor for oral argument. </li><li>Compiles references on laws and decisions necessary for legal determinations. </li><li>Assist the Chancellor with case and staff management. </li><li>Generally, provide legal counsel and support to the Chancellor </li><li>Exhibit the highest standards of excellence and integrity. </li></ul> <p>Graduation from law school with a minimum of eight (8) years experience in practice. Prior judicial clerkship experience, trial litigation experience or experience on the editorial board of a law review preferred.</p> <p>Possession of a Certificate of Admission to the Bar of the State of Tennessee.</p> <p>Exhibit good judgment and good analytical skills; demonstrate initiative; possess a strong work ethic; maintain a professional appearance and demeanor; work quickly and harmoniously with others in a team-based environment; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and exercise discretion in handling confidential matters. </p> <p>APPLICATION PROCESS:</p> <p>Submit an application for employment, a resume, law school transcript, writing sample (unedited by others) and three professional references.
