<p>Job Description</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The loader/checker is responsible for using industrial powered equipment and automation equipment to load, unload, move, stack, stage and count products and materials. Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and vehicles in and around the facility.</p> <p>Principle Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Package and prepare finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, palletizing, blocking and corrugating). </li><li>Load finished product onto trailers and trucks using powered equipment and manual labor. </li><li>Unload materials (empty crates/inbounds) from trailers and place in appropriate area. </li><li>Move materials as necessary for shipping and storage. </li><li>Perform quality control checks(no damaged goods in or out / accurate orders). </li><li>Operate within all Standard Operating Procedures and Job Safety Analysis. </li><li>Attend all safety and operational meetings. </li><li>Operate industrial powered equipment (forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks). </li><li>Operate other warehouse equipment (shrink wrap machines). </li><li>Complete all necessary daily paperwork. </li><li>Perform all required pre/post inspection reports for all equipment. </li><li>Communicate with operators on other shifts and in other departments. </li><li>Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area. </li><li>Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. </li><li>Comply with OSHA Standards. </li><li>Turn off and lock equipment when not in use. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by management team. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred </li><li>Basic reading, writing, arithmetic skills </li><li>Good communication skills </li><li>Ability to learn FAA regulations for 2-way radios </li><li>Forklift experience preferred </li><li>Must be able to perform the following physical behaviors repetitively throughout a shift: standing, walking, handling, reaching horizontally, reaching above the shoulder, reaching below waist, grasping firmly, pushing buttons, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, pulling and pushing </li><li>Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs on a regular basis </li><li>Must be able to push/pull a manual pallet hand truck, up to 1,000 pounds. </li><li>Must be able to pull a stack of six cases, weighing up to 216 pounds, a short distance. </li><li>Must be able to work with a variety of chlorinated alkali cleaners and acid sanitizers. </li><li>Must be able to climb an eight foot ladder to attach piping or pull jammed empty milk cases, carrying up to 30 pounds. </li><li>Must be able to work entire shift </li></ul> <p>Wawa will provide reasonable accommodation to complete an application upon request, consistent with applicable law.
