<p>9th Grade Student Engagement Liaison (3 positions) JobID: 10038</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>School Based Support: Secretary, Para, Custodian/Student Engagement Liaison</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>3/1/2026</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Prairie View High School</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>August 2026</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>03/06/2026</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>DESCRIPTION: The Student Engagement Specialist serves as a mentor and advocate whose primary purpose is to support students who face obstacles to school success and may be at-risk of dropping out.</p> <p>SALARY: Classified Grade Q, starting at $25.14 depending on relevant experience. 9 hours per day, Tuesday through Friday, 9 month work schedule, paid over 12 months. Position is eligible for benefits.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Monitor and manage early warning data systems including student academic progress, attendance, and behavior to identify students in need of additional supports. </li><li>Build supportive and trusting relationships with at-risk students and their families in order to identify the specific issues impacting student engagement in school and academic performance. </li><li>Develop and implement individual student success plans that promote self-advocacy and engagement in school. Provide personalized intervention strategies to increase the likelihood that these students will stay in school and graduate. Monitor progress and collect evidence of student growth and strategy effectiveness on increasing student success and perseverance. </li><li>Collaborate with teachers, administrators and other school staff to support and advocate for individual student needs. </li><li>Assist students and families in connecting to needed services through a variety of community agencies to ensure student success. Partner and build community relationships through participation in county and statewide networks, advisory groups, and committees related to supporting at-risk youth and improving student outcomes. </li><li>Perform outreach strategies and maintain communication with students who have previously dropped out in efforts to re-engage and re-enroll students into school. </li><li>Accurately maintain records of all student information and success plans. Submit monthly progress and performance reports. Document student and family contacts and interventions through Infinite Campus. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, criminal justice, or human service related field required. </li><li>Minimum (3) years working with youth whose behavior or life circumstances place them at risk of academic failure in school. </li><li>Spoken and written Spanish/Bilingual skills highly preferred. </li><li>Willingness to learn and adapt with shifting programs and priorities with a "can-do" attitude and solution-oriented approach. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job. </li><li>Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds. </li></ul> <p>Links to Important Job Information:</p> <p>Benefits Information</p> <p>Salary Schedules</p> <p>Leaves Information</p> <p>Non-Discrimination Notice</p> <p>All future correspondence will be handled via the email address you provided in your online application.
