<p>Under the direct supervision of licensed personnel, the Patient Care Technician II performs a variety of routine duties to assist the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care. This position spends the majority of his or her time interacting with, assisting, and supporting our patients. Along with ensuring a safe environment, this position develops with each individual a therapeutic relationship which is critical in the healing process. This position also through communication, requisitioning and management of supplies and equipment, coordinates the activities of the nursing staff, the patient, the physician, other hospital departments and visitors. This position performs general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.</p> <p>What you will do</p> <ul> <li>Acts as resource person to patients, families, nursing staff, and support services in the unit. </li><li>Receives and directs phone calls and serves as the receptionist for the department. Answers call buttons. </li><li>Uses computer system to locate orders, retrieve patient information, call STAT and cancel orders, and print daily census. Follow "Down Time" procedures. </li><li>Operates order communication system. </li><li>Files reports and necessary forms in patient charts. </li><li>Communicates and assist with the transferring and discharging patients to notify appropriate area. </li><li>Orders supplies and services for the unit. </li><li>Operates a variety of office equipment effectively. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Education</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or Equivalent, required. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Work Experience</p> <ul> <li>6 months Experience in a Health Care Related Field, or, be actively enrolled in a pre-nursing or nursing program, actively pursuing a nursing degree, required. </li></ul> <p>Licenses and Certifications</p> <ul> <li>BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association, required upon hire. </li></ul>
