<p>Position Title: DC Shipping Employee</p> <p>Department: Hampstead Shipping Department</p> <p>Reports To: DC Shipping Supervisor</p> <p>Work Location: Jos a Bank Distribution Center</p> <p>500 Hanover Pike / 626 Hanover Pike</p> <p>Hampstead Maryland 21074</p> <p>Schedule:</p> <p>Work Schedule: Sun. - Wed. or Wed. - Sat.: 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Days and hours may fluctuate due to workload. Must be able to work weekends and overtime when necessary.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The goal of DC Shipping employee is to ensure that everything going out is shipped properly and within a pre-determined time frame. There will be loading and unloading of trucks both manually and using material handling equipment.</p> <p>Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the RSU Processor will consist of but are not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure use of standard operating procedures to ensure inventory accuracy. </li><li>Using approved shipping process of outbound store and ecommerce cartons produce the correct shipping label and sort outbound boxes based on the shipping method to be used. </li><li>Operate a hand-held radio-frequency scanner (RF equipment) to process merchandise. </li><li>Make boxes as needed. </li><li>Ability to learn and retain instructions covering wide variety of tasks. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with peers and supervision. </li><li>Knowledge of a shipping a plus. </li><li>Assist in maintaining proper stock levels of merchandise and products in the proper locations for effective picking </li><li>Record and report any damaged products/merchandise to the designated supervisor. </li><li>Packaging merchandise for customer orders. This includes inspection for quality and auditing for accuracy of the individual order </li><li>Process merchandise using a wireless RF (radio-frequency) hand-held scanner </li><li>Accurately perform procedures using company computer systems </li><li>Assist in loading/unloading goods. </li><li>Operate material handling equipment to meet productivity standards and in a safe and efficient manner following standard work methods. </li><li>Responsible for the careful handling of all merchandise, avoiding damage, bending, or tearing. </li><li>Utilize proper techniques for processing, picking, packing, pushing/pulling, and lifting </li><li>Maintain a clean, safe, and productive work environment </li><li>Contribute to building a positive team spirit and support company's goals and objectives </li><li>Promote safe work practices at all times to ensure a safe work environment and report all maintenance or safety issues requiring corrective action </li><li>Assist in all other areas of the distribution center </li></ul> <p>Skills, Abilities, Experience and Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or Equivalent required. </li><li>Ability to meet deadlines/productivity standards and complete work in a timely manner. </li><li>Good attendance/punctuality record; consistently at work and on time. </li><li>Ability to learn new skills and follow directions. </li><li>Good math, counting, and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Must be customer service oriented. </li><li>Good verbal communication skills. </li><li>Must be able to understand spoken and written English to perform necessary job functions. </li><li>Good organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies. </li><li>Must have excellent attention to detail while maintaining accuracy. </li><li>Must maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times with the highest level of customer service. </li><li>Individual must be Safety conscious. </li><li>Working knowledge in the use of warehouse technology including radio-frequency (RF) scanners to perform daily functions is a plus. </li><li>Previous warehouse/distribution/production experience helpful. </li><li>Basic knowledge of computer PC skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is helpful. </li><li>Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment. </li><li>Ability to work in a warehouse environment setting with physical demands that include continuous standing, walking, use of hands and fingers, grasping, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, stretching, crouching, crawling, pulling, pushing, working and reaching overhead, using ladders or lifts, and frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more. </li><li>Ability to use handling equipment and machinery including sorter systems, conveyors, RF guns, metal hooks, plastic bags, plastic packaging, cardboard boxes, tape dispensers, and other materials necessary to the production and packaging of our merchandise. </li><li>Dependable team player willing to do what it takes to get the job done and flexible in scheduling is required based on business needs (i.e.; increased hours, weekends, holidays, and volume of work, staffing shortages, etc.). </li><li>Authorized to work for any employer in the United States. </li><li>Must be able to work in all areas of production. </li></ul> <p>Other Duties:</p> <p>This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing or activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
