<p>JOB SUMMARY: The Business Systems Coach partners with assigned plants to drive implementation and sustainment of the Daily Management System and kaizen roadmap in alignment with the Business Systems Office (BSO) strategy. This role serves as a hands-on coach and liaison between plant leadership and the Business Systems Office, ensuring disciplined execution of the turnkey management system while building plant capability in continuous improvement. The Business Systems Coach supports and develops plant leaders but does not replace their ownership or accountability.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Align all personal and plant goals, coaching, and kaizen-related activities to the Business Systems Office strategy Oversee and support kaizen activities and implementation of the daily management system across the assigned plants Serve as the primary liaison between the plants and the systems office for continuous improvement initiatives Coach and support plant leaders in effectively using the daily management system to drive results Ensure the plant's kaizen roadmap and targeted improvement plans are being properly executed Assist in the development and improvement of visual management systems and processes Collect and help populate the read-across system with ideas, impact, and learnings Share best practices and learnings across the organization (via the Business Systems Office) Influence and engage others to develop their continuous improvement skills and capabilities Observe and document best practices at other sites, and attend leadership conferences and other trainings conducted by the Business Systems Office for further development</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Experience in a continuous improvement, lean, or kaizen leadership role Strong understanding of Daily Management Systems and lean principles Excellent coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills Strong planning and execution discipline Ability to influence without direct authority Adaptable, resilient, and growth-oriented mindset</p> <p>TRAVEL:</p> <p>Travel required approximately 25-50% to support manufacturing locations, program launches, and customer engagement.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Foster a Winning Mindset</p> <p>Encourages plant leaders and team members to stretch beyond their current capabilities. Share success stories and performance highlights from the field to build momentum. Inspires confidence during huddles and coaching sessions, celebrating progress. Helps plant leaders and team members understand the purpose of the daily management system and how it improves their work and lives. Helps teams distinguish between symptoms and root causes using data.</p> <p>Have a Bias for Action</p> <p>Drives urgency around deadlines, follow-ups, and execution of improvement ideas. Prepares and submits coaching forms, trip reports, and plans on time. Pushes plants to close loops quickly and keep improvement momentum high. Prioritizes doing the work over discussing the work.</p> <p>Commit to Mastery</p> <p>Is humble, coachable, and constantly seeking to learn and grow. Accepts feedback from the Systems Office, plant leaders, and peers. Owns personal development gaps and takes action to close them. Seeks to continuously improve their coaching craft and Systems Office impact.</p> <p>Set High Standards</p> <p>Delivers a professional, polished experience every time they visit a plant. Holds themselves accountable to high-quality preparation, coaching, and follow-up. Sets the tone for excellence in appearance, behavior, and deliverables. Earns the trust and respect of plants as a high-performing BSO ambassador.</p> <p>Pay Attention to Detail</p> <p>Prepares thoroughly for site visits and coaching sessions, including return-to-green plans. Tracks all follow-ups and uses documentation rigorously. Adheres to BSO templates, processes, and protocols with consistency. Notices small but important gaps in systems and behaviors during gemba and huddles.</p> <p>Lead by Example</p> <p>Models daily management behaviors-uses the idea system, participates in recognition, and lives the philosophy. Coaches from the floor, shoulder-to-shoulder with team members and leaders. Demonstrates what excellence looks like in every interaction. Acts as a role model of our coaching philosophy and performance expectations.</p> <p>Build Trust & Accountability</p> <p>Builds trust by listening first, asking thoughtful questions, and showing humility. Is transparent about their own improvement areas and follows through on commitments. Encourages open dialogue and problem ownership in plant teams. Uses recognition to build relationships and accountability to build credibility.</p> <p>Be Resilient Under Pressure</p> <p>Maintains composure and optimism during resistance, conflict, or ambiguity. Uses de-escalation techniques and reframes problems as opportunities. Supports leaders through tough transitions and setbacks with encouragement. Leads with a calm, confident tone during tense huddles or challenging site visits.</p>
