<p>Job Description:</p> <p>This is a full-time, 2-Year Terminal, benefitted position in the MSCA union. Salary is $60,000 - $75,000.</p> <p>Full Time/Visiting Professor of Multimedia Journalism position with benefits, beginning Sept 1, 2025. The Department of Communication and Intercultural Studies (CICS) is seeking qualified applicants with a Master's or PhD in journalism, digital media studies, or related fields with professional multimedia journalism experience and teaching experience in higher education. We invite applicants with a strong interest in contemporary journalism trends, such as digital storytelling, social media, digital and mobile-first approach, podcasting and long-form storytelling, constructive journalism, and citizen journalism. Given our department's interdisciplinary focus on Global and Intercultural Studies, we are particularly interested in candidates whose expertise and teaching interests actively promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in journalism, media, and society.</p> <p>Teaching responsibilities comprise a 4/4 teaching load, including courses in multimedia journalism and digital media studies, such as Storytelling across Digital Media, Multimedia Practicum, Publication Design, Podcasting, and Writing and Reporting the News.</p> <p>In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will serve as an advisor for the student newspaper, The Beacon, and will have the opportunity to be involved in the campus radio station WJJW 91/1 FM while teaching undergraduate journalism and media courses. The candidate will also contribute to implementing the redesigned communication program and organize guest speakers, workshops, and events supporting the department's mission.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Applicants should hold a Master's or Ph.D. in journalism, digital media studies, or a related field, along with professional experience in multimedia journalism and teaching experience at the college or university level. Candidates must have expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud, with demonstrated proficiency in InDesign for publication design and Adobe Premiere for video editing.
