ARUP's culture is one of caring for both the patient and its employees.</p> <ul> <li>This internship is open to students from the following Utah schools: UVU, Utah State University, Weber St, University of Utah, BYU, SLCC, Southern Utah, and Utah Tech.* </li></ul> <p>About the Supervisor:</p> <p>Mark Dewey is the Software Development Supervisor in the Applied Artificial Intelligence group at ARUP. Mark oversees a group of 5 Software Engineers that support Data Scientists in developing novel algorithms, data analysis and computational pipelines.</p> <p>Internship Description:</p> <p>This internship will provide an opportunity for someone interested in full stack development, including software architecture, infrastructure, testing, and best practices. The intern will work closely with Mark Dewey and Brendan O'Fallon.</p> <p>Internship Goals:</p> <p>Work with team to develop data engineering libraries and applications to support the development of AI/ML models.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Techniques Learned from Internship:</p> <p>This internship is an opportunity for a motivated individual to learn software development, software architecture, and project management skills due to the autonomous aspect of the required tasks.</p> <p>Measurement of New Skills:</p> <p>The intern will meet weekly with Mark Dewey or Brendan O'Fallon to review progress and performance. The intern will also present work to the applied AI team as needed throughout the course of the internship and at the conclusion to summarize the project.</p> <p>About ARUP:</p> <p>ARUP Laboratories is a national clinical and anatomic pathology reference laboratory and an enterprise of the University of Utah and its Department of Pathology.
