<p>Pay begins at $21.31/hr for Athletic & Event Representative - SOCCER (part-time) and is dependent upon applicable experience.</p> <p>In addition to base pay, this PART-TIME position is eligible for an annual performance bonus as well as a longevity bonus.  </p> <p>Description: </p> <p>This position will be responsible for a variety of duties within the athletics and events division of Smyrna Parks & Recreation, with an emphasis on Soccer and soccer-related activities specific to Rotary Soccer Park. The position can also serve as a direct liaison with the Stones River Futbol Club and assist in communications with the league. Duties and responsibilities will include: participation and implementation of various events and programs, assisting in the coordination and supervision of tournaments, camps, and clinics, oversight of recreation and select soccer activities, set up and take down of numerous town events, and routine upkeep of parks & recreation facilities, specifically Rotary Soccer Park. This position should have knowledge of soccer rules and regulations, as well as field dimensions and layouts. This position reports to the Recreation Programs Manager.</p> <p>The following duties are normal for this position.  The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification.  While this is intended to be an accurate reflection of the current job, management reserves the right to revise the job.  Other duties may be required and assigned.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Participates in the execution, set up, take down, clean up, and planning of numerous special events, programs, and tournaments.</p> </li><li> <p>Helps to oversee soccer league games and practices, camps/clinics, functions, and meetings as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in the preparation of athletic fields such as lining, prepping, dragging, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in maintaining and overseeing athletics facility schedules, specifically Rotary Soccer Park Complex.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in coordinating the use of athletic facilities by local leagues and the town citizens.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in planning, organizing, and scheduling of camps, programs, special events, school events, and other events as they related to the Smyrna Parks Department</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for representing the Parks Department during town events, programs and general operations.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in the development of the Smyrna Parks athletics and event office.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends a variety of meetings relative to the programs and events in the park system as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends various recreation league board meetings</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in the creation and release of departmental brochures, articles, reports, and other media-related materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsibly operates town equipment and vehicles.</p> </li><li> <p>Position will routinely take a lead role on evening and weekend shifts.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in monitoring field usage and recording observed information.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitoring the usage of town athletics facilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in routine upkeep of park facilities, including minor maintenance tasks.</p> </li><li> <p>All other duties as assigned by the Recreation Programs Manager.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be at least 18 years of age</p> </li><li> <p>Must possess a valid Tennessee Driver's License</p> </li><li> <p>Must possess a High School diploma or GED</p> </li><li> <p>1+ Year(s) working experience in recreation, athletics, special events, or related field, or currently pursuing or studying in athletics or recreation-related field, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.</p> </li></ul>
