<p>Description</p> <p>The Warehouse Specialist works in a team setting to reach warehouse operations goals. The Warehouse Specialist performs warehouse duties including: sorting, receiving, pulling orders, and operating forklifts. This is a safety sensitive position.</p> <p>The Warehouse Specialist is a vital member of the Operations department and collaborates with them to support the implementation of new strategies, programs, or initiatives. This position will be comfortable learning new technology, as well as an eagerness to utilize Arkansas Foodbank software systems. They will possess strong interpersonal skills, a spirit of collaboration and teamwork, and a commitment to hunger relief.</p> <p>Arkansas Foodbank team members will demonstrate a commitment to our mission and to the fight against hunger in Arkansas. They must have a clear understanding of and ability to articulate the mission and vision of Arkansas Foodbank and a desire to work with diverse populations. Team members must exemplify Arkansas Foodbank values while representing the organization at public, social, and business settings.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>The statements contained herein describe the scope of the responsibility and essential functions of this position but should not be considered to be an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. Individuals may perform other duties as assigned including work in other areas to cover absences or to equalize peak work periods or otherwise balance the workload. Individuals in this position may occasionally work irregular hours as necessary.</p> <ul> <li>Safely operate industrial lift trucks and other motorized and non-motorized equipment to unload trailers, transport, select, stock, and load heavy/large merchandise </li><li>Meet safety, accuracy, and production standards for all assignments </li><li>Receive all product from trucks making deliveries to the Foodbank </li><li>Receive all product picked up by Foodbank trucks </li><li>Select product safely with a high degree of accuracy </li><li>Restock merchandise in the order selection area </li><li>Assist agencies with loading of their pallets </li><li>Transfer products to cooler, freezer, and warehouse from dock area </li><li>Complete proper receiving and shipping forms. </li><li>Conduct daily safety inspection of the equipment and submit report to Warehouse Manager </li><li>Perform basic sanitation duties to ensure a clean environment. Inspect all incoming loads for evidence of spoilage, odors, damaged containers, insects, rodents, excessive heat damage, freezer damage, water damage, mold or product leakage and report same to Warehouse Director </li><li>Conduct cycle counts and assist in inventory reconciliation </li><li>Identify and report any mechanical issues with warehouse equipment </li><li>Comply with warehouse and food safety guidelines </li><li>Work effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth warehouse operations assisting where and when needed </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>The following qualifications are preferred, however, other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval of management.</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED equivalent </li><li>One (1) year warehouse, logistics, or inventory experience </li><li>Must be certified to operate power industrial equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.) or be able to pass power industrial certification. The power industrial certification will be administered by the Arkansas Foodbank </li><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory </li><li>Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and order processing </li><li>Ability to lift and move heavy items </li><li>Ability to work in hot, cold, or fluctuating temperatures </li><li>Comfortable wearing protective gear (e.g., insulated clothing, gloves, or cooling vests as needed). </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands and Work Environment</p> <p>This job operates in in a warehouse environment. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to severe. While performing duties of this job, the employee regularly is exposed to wet or humid conditions; extreme cold or heat; and general outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to hot and/or humid conditions. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift/move up to 65 pounds and occasionally lift and or maneuver up to 100 pounds in multi-temperature environments ranging from -10F to 100F with appropriate assistance and/or assistance from another person. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
