We're an innovative private school for students from low-income communities. The 2025-2026 school year is our first year with a middle school. There will only be 35-40 students in 5th-6th grade, and there will be two teachers: One teacher will teach reading/writing, and the second teacher will teach math. Additionally, the math teacher will assist students as they use adaptive curriculum with artificial intelligence, as they self-pace through math and science curriculum.</p> <p>Roles & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Teach 5th-6th grade math </li><li>Monitor students as they complete adaptive curriculum in math and science. </li><li>Ensures students write weekly learning plans - Achieving 1.25= years of growth </li><li>Daily reviews data dashboard to monitor student progress on Zearn & Khan Academy </li><li>Create lesson plans (with artificial intelligence assistance) based on student data </li><li>Teach 7-10 small group lessons daily (1:20 teacher:student ratio) </li><li>Teach morning and afternoon homeroom character education lessons </li><li>Lead a sport/club from 3-4p (after school time is part of our school day) </li><li>Duties - Recess/Lunch </li><li>Collaborate and plan with reading/writing teacher (90 minutes planning time per day) </li><li>Keep classroom clean and organized </li><li>Grading and family communication </li></ul> <p>Character Traits and Preferred Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Mission - a sense of purpose for teaching kids from low-income families at an elite level </li><li>Required: Deep content knowledge in middle grades math </li><li>Preferred: Some content knowledge of science </li><li>Supremely organized and collaborative </li><li>Loves working with adolescents and teenagers </li><li>At least 2 years of teaching </li><li>Expertise in general pedagogy: Classroom management, routines and procedures, lesson/unit planning </li><li>Preferred - Experience working with students from low-income backgrounds </li></ul> <p>Compensation + Details:</p> <ul> <li>Base salary - $59,000-$63,000 (3 year contract - annual raises) </li><li>Hours: 8a-5p (10 month teacher work calendar, 2 months paid vacation) </li><li>Full benefits for teacher & family (0% check deductions) + 401(k) retirement </li><li>Relocation, child tuition at GDS, child care assistance, maternity leave </li></ul> <p>Apply Now Name<em> Email</em> Phone*</p> <p>Resume/CV*</p>
