<p>Job Title: Microbiology Lab Technician</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Join our dynamic team as a Microbiology Lab Technician, where you will perform Bioburden testing on medical device products and support the Micro team. Your role involves media preparation and sterilization using aseptic techniques during sample preparation. You will also be responsible for recognizing malfunctions in laboratory equipment and either notifying management or performing simple repairs. Additional duties include preventative maintenance, laboratory housekeeping, and ensuring compliance with data documentation, laboratory safety, and good laboratory practices. Training on USP 61 and USP 62, as well as potential training on LAL testing and other Micro techniques, will be provided.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform Bioburden testing on medical device products. </li><li>Support Micro team with media preparation and sterilization using aseptic techniques. </li><li>Recognize and address malfunctions in laboratory equipment. </li><li>Perform simple repairs on laboratory equipment when necessary. </li><li>Conduct preventative maintenance and laboratory housekeeping. </li><li>Follow procedures related to data documentation, laboratory safety, and good laboratory practices. </li><li>Train on USP 61 and USP 62, with potential training on LAL testing and other Micro techniques. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>1-2 years of Micro experience (school/industry). </li><li>Bachelor's Degree in Biology or Microbiology. </li><li>Minimum 6 months experience with aseptic technique. </li><li>Preferred 6 months experience with Bioburden. </li><li>GMP Lab experience with a minimum of 6 months. </li><li>USP testing experience (food, pharma, device, etc.). </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>USP-61 or USP-62 experience. </li><li>Experience within pharmaceuticals or medical device industries. </li><li>Consideration of candidates from third-party testing labs and food micro labs. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The current Bio department consists of about 24 team members. Labs are separated but work closely with the R&D and Chemistry labs, maintaining a very clean environment. The work schedule is Sunday to Thursday, with hours from 3pm to 12pm on the 2nd shift.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job</p> <p>classification and length of employment.
