<p>Job Description</p> <ul> <li>Delivers a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients as per physician instruction in accordance with generally accepted radiation therapy practices and departmental procedures. </li><li>Observes patient during therapy procedure for any unusual reactions or events; uses judgment and withholds treatment if indicated by patient's condition. Reports significant or questionable information to designated supervisory personnel and assists in emergency treatment as appropriate. </li><li>Reinforces recommendations given to the patient by the physician, dietitian, and other relevant health care personnel concerning reaction to treatment and care of the radiated area (dressings, hygiene, etc.), prevention or treatment of generalized and local side effects. Changes patient dressings as necessary. </li><li>Complies with established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control. </li><li>Assists with the maintenance of department facilities, equipment, and supplies. Maintains stock levels of supplies and materials. Report maintenance and repair needs to supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Company Description</p> <p>The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) is the flagship academic medical center at the heart of UMMS and includes the 789-bed downtown Baltimore campus and the 177-bed midtown campus one mile north. The medical staff comprises nearly 1,200 attending physicians who are faculty members at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, as well as 900 residents and fellows in all medical specialties.</p> <p>UMMC is home to the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center and The R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, the highest-volume trauma center in the United States.</p> <p>UMMC was established in 1823 in partnership with the first public medical school in the nation. Today, as then, all attending physicians at UMMC are faculty members at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Graduation from an AMA approved program in Radiation Therapy Technology or Radiologic Technology is required. </li><li>Registration as a Radiation Therapy Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) is required. </li><li>Licensure in Radiation Therapy Technology within the state of Maryland is required. </li><li>Associate of Science degree in Radiation Therapy Technology is preferred. </li><li>One year of clinical practice in Radiation Therapy is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.</p> <p>Compensation</p> <ul> <li>Pay Range: $40.61-$60.96 </li><li>Other Compensation (if applicable): </li><li>Review the 2024-2025 UMMS Benefits Guide </li></ul> <p>Like many employers, UMMS is being targeted by cybercriminals impersonating our recruiters and offering fake job opportunities.
