Our Technical Operations team comprises aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that ensure they're well-equipped and ready to transport our customers to their desired destinations. If you're prepared to work on our planes, join our Tech Ops experts and help keep our fleet in tip-top shape.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>As a Manager- Heavy Maintenance Execution Strategy, you'll lead initiatives that are tied to how United manages large-scale maintenance. You'll design scalable tools and analytics solutions, develop performance metrics, and deliver insights that improve efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and optimize cost control. This role blends strategy with hands-on execution, requiring flexibility to adapt as operational priorities shift.</p> <p>Primary duties will include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead performance improvement efforts by applying structured process improvement and data-driven analysis.</p> </li><li> <p>Establish and monitor KPIs tied to heavy maintenance efficiency, turnaround time, and cost.</p> </li><li> <p>Partner with cross-functional teams to define and refine the analytics framework, ensuring insights inform decisions and continuous improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Drive adoption of digital tools and technologies that modernize heavy maintenance, enhance data accessibility, and automate workflows.</p> </li></ul> <p>Location & Schedule: This role is based at the CSC - Willis Tower in Chicago, IL, and follows a hybrid work schedule with three days per week in-office (subject to change)</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in engineering or aviation, or related work experience </li><li>3+ years of project management, continuous improvement, or supervisory experience in aviation or relevant fields </li><li>Familiarity with process mapping, improvement methodologies, and business process implementation </li><li>Experience with data visualization tools and standards </li><li>Ability to manage/support multiple projects </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills </li><li>Ability to work cross-functionally with key stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization, both internally and externally </li><li>Proven ability to analyze data, tell a compelling story with insights, and influence decision-making </li><li>Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship </li><li>Successful completion of the interview is required to meet the job qualification </li><li>Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position </li></ul> <p>What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):</p> <ul> <li>7+ years of aviation industry experience </li><li>Background in maintenance programs, engineering, or continuous improvement </li><li>Deep knowledge of Tech Ops processes, heavy maintenance systems, and applications </li><li>Tech Ops and/or Heavy Maintenance applications, data structure, and platforms </li><li>Experience with Palantir, Power BI, or dashboard/application development </li><li>Prior roles in Engineering, Analytics, Project/Program Management, or Planning </li></ul> <p>The base pay range for this role is $99,750.00 to $129,924.00.</p> <p>The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills.
