Position:</p> <ul> <li>JROTC Army Instructor </li></ul> <p>Eligibility:</p> <ul> <li>Noncommissioned Officers must be retired and within three years from retirement date, from the Army in the grades of E-6 through E-9 </li><li>Warrant Officers must be retired and within three years from retirement date from the army in the grades W-1 through W-5 </li><li>Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred. </li></ul> <p>Roles and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Army Regulation 145-2 and Cadet Command regulation 145-2 contain specific information pertaining to the roles and responsibilities within the JROTC Program </li><li>JROTC Directorate </li><li>High School </li><li>Brigade HQ </li><li>Senior Army Instructor (Department Head) </li><li>Army Instructor </li></ul> <p>Additional information:</p> <ul> <li>In addition to teaching in the classroom there are a number of activities that will require JROTC instructors to work outside of the regular school hours. An instructor's work week could easily exceed 50 hours and may include additional weekend activities. </li><li>Raider Challenge </li><li>JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC) </li><li>JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLAB) </li><li>Drill and Rifle Competitions </li><li>Weekend Camps </li><li>Physical Training </li><li>Holiday Parades and Ceremonies (Veteran's Day, Memorial Day, etc) </li></ul> <p>Minimum Instructor Pay (MIP) is the difference between official retired pay, reported by the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), and the active duty pay and allowances (excluding hazardous duty and special pays) that a JROTC instructor would receive if ordered to active duty. Active duty Pay and Allowances are based on DFAS current year Military Pay Tables and include the following::</p> <ul> <li>Basic Pay </li><li>Basic Allowance for Housing </li><li>Cost of Living Allowance (if applicable) </li><li>Overseas Housing Allowance (if applicable) </li><li>Overseas Cost of Living Allowance (if applicable) </li><li>Clothing Maintenance Allowance (enlisted only) </li><li>Basic Allowance for Subsistence </li></ul> <p>Submitted Packets Must Include:</p> <ul> <li>Copy of last 3 consecutive official evaluation reports (All 3 required with no gaps or courtesy copies), academic evaluations included (to obtain missing military documents, please access your AKO account at http://www.us.army.mil). </li><li>Most recent copy of ORB (Officer), ERB (NCO), or PQR for AGR personnel. </li><li>DD Form 214 Copy 4, Retirement Orders, DA Form 5016 (Chronological Statement of Retirement Points) Reservist ONLY, or NGB-22, National Guard ONLY. </li><li>A copy of DA Form 5500 (.pdf) (Body Fat Content Worksheet - Male) or DA Form 5501 (.pdf) (Body Fat Content Worksheet - Female) taken within 6 months (if required). </li><li>Copy of your highest official transcripts from an accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the Department of Education. </li><li>Copy of most recent physical exam conducted within the last 12 months on either: </li><li>DD Forms 2808 and 2807-1.or CCF 211-R. </li><li>Copy of VA Rating Decision if awarded 30% or greater. </li></ul> <p>Terms of Employment: Additional information and application forms can be found at the JROTC website; here</p> <ul> <li>Reports to: Senior Army Instructor </li></ul> <p>The New Bedford Public Schools do not discriminate on account of age, race, color, sex, gender identity, gender expression, ancestry, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, military status, genetics, or disability that does not prohibit performance of essential job functions in employment for potential employees.
