<p>Mechanical Engineer II</p> <p>Job Requirements include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Engineer has the ability to lead a client/client team (1-5 staff), small to medium projects, or portions of a large project utilizing their experience and education in HVAC design, plumbing design and energy codes; as well as solve most design challenges that arise on a project. </li><li>Engineer should have good understanding of energy codes and their impact on building design. Engineers should have a good understanding of Trane Trace, including some knowledge of energy analysis. </li><li>Engineer can work in an independent manner on several project and/or client types with minimal supervision from a more Senior Engineer or Designer. </li><li>Engineer should have good understanding of simple HVAC systems and a basic understanding of most HVAC systems and controls. </li><li>Engineer can communicate effectively to be seen as highly knowledgeable and/or an expert when discussing design challenges or projects, both internally and externally. </li><li>Engineer should be able to apply their knowledge gained through experience and knowledge of recognized national standards to most project types, with minimal oversight from a more Senior Engineer or Designer. </li><li>Engineer should have a thorough knowledge of software assisting programs, such as Trane Trace, and be able to apply throughout the design process. </li><li>Engineer should have good understanding of energy codes and how they affect design decisions in a project. </li><li>Engineer should be able to design and draft domestic water, sewer, and natural gas piping systems, including riser diagrams, for most projects. </li></ul> <p>Job Duties include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Engineer should be proficient in AutoCAD and/or REVIT. Engineer should be able to train employees on company standards, drafting techniques, and technical questions pertaining to HVAC design, plumbing design, or other national standards. </li><li>Engineer will work in a collaborative environment with Architects and other Engineers to develop construction documents based on a clients' requirements, including most project management and construction administration functions. </li><li>Engineer will be able to perform a high level of quality control of their projects and others, for final review by Engineer of Record. </li><li>Engineer will have direct client contact. </li><li>Engineer will establish project budgets, with the approval of Mechanical Team Lead, and work with Team Lead to ensure those projects are financially successful, unless in a strictly technical role for the company. </li><li>Engineer could serve as Engineer of Record, with approval from Director or Executive, on simple project or roll-out clients. </li><li>Engineer will be licensed in less than 5 states. </li><li>Engineer should be able to write specifications for most project types. </li><li>Engineer should be able to design and draft domestic water, sewer, and natural gas piping systems, including riser diagrams, for most projects. </li></ul> <p>About HFA</p> <p>HFA is a multidisciplinary architectural, engineering, and interior design firm who thrives in a people first driven environment.
