<p>Position Summary</p> <p>This position plays a critical role in the research, development and recommendations for policy and procedural changes informed by data and outcome measures as they relate to religious accommodation initiatives available to persons in our care, offenders and youth. This position holds key responsibility for cross-divisional (DAI, DJC, DCC and DMS) communication, program implementation and coordination of religious activities and initiatives that support the rehabilitation mission of the Department of Corrections, consistent with the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act of 2000 (RLUIPA) and other federal and state statutes, regulations and evolving case law.</p> <p>This position will lead the complex analysis, evaluation of policy planning, development, staff training and coordination of Department policies and procedures related to religious issues. This position will provide guidance to facility leadership on rehabilitative opportunities through religious accommodations, legal obligations and best practices addressing issues as they arise, reporting to DOC management and executive staff concerning progress towards Department goals and objectives. This position also serves as a Department representative and the main point of contact with other federal, state, local and community faith-based agencies as related to religious accommodations.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This position is in pay schedule and range 07-03 with a starting pay of $34.81 to $45.67 per hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.</p> <p>The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection.
